Levels of abstraction matter. So does modularisation.

Today we remember Niklaus Wirth, who recently passed away. Born on this day in 1934, Wirth received the 1984 #ACMTuringAward for developing a sequence of innovative #computerlanguages, EULER, ALGOL-W, MODULA and #PASCAL. PASCAL has become pedagogically significant and has provided a foundation for future computer language, systems, and architectural research.
