Use the STAR method – Stop, Think, Act, Review – to ensure you’re taking the time to focus on safety and effectively take the steps needed to create a safe work area. Colleagues in every part of Spectris took time out to focus on safety during our first Group-wide Stop for Safety Day. The day was part of our continued efforts to strengthen our safety culture and empower everyone to Be In the Moment on safety. Teams made the event relevant to their workplaces through talks and safety gemba walks, looking at things with a fresh perspective and identifying opportunities for improvements. Activities ranged from problem solving around handling heavy loads, holding fire evacuation drills, focusing on staircase safety, discussing how to avoid distractions while driving and improving safety for home workers. Many shared their own stories of why safety matters to them and made personal safety commitments. At Spectris, our mission is to make the world cleaner, healthier and more productive. And on Stop for Safety Day we brought that ambition to life for all 7,000 of our colleagues worldwide.
