A little late on posting, but my 1st publication in Synthesis is out! https://lnkd.in/g8Z5XTJF A palladium-catalyzed decarboxylative dearomatization of a heterocyclic benzyl ester enabled access to an uncommon reaction intermediate that can rearomatize with simple amine bases. The dearomatized intermediate was also taken for further functionalization reactions (the IEDDA [4+2] cycloaddition was my personal favorite). Thanks to my fellow authors and to Synthesis for the invitation to the special issue on the C-H functionalization of heterocycles!
