It's always important to remember that we don't usually remember the gifts we receive but we do remember the way people made us feel, and that includes our kids. Zeke doesn't need fancy new toys. He loves playing in that box. As we get ready for Christmas, I wanted to pass along a few tips to help take the stress out of the Holidays. ✔️ Set a budget and stick to the list for Christmas shopping ✔️ Let go of the idea that everything must be perfect. Deep breaths! ✔️ Say "No" when necessary. Don't overcommit in a stressful time ✔️ Embrace DIY gifts or thoughtful alternatives As for this last one, we practice this a lot. Instead of my girls spending money on a gift I don't want or need, they practice a song for me. We do this for all of our major gifting. In the past they have sung Cockles and Muscles. This year it's going to be either "All I want for X-mas is my two front teeth" or Ratlin Bog. As you prepare this season, just know that people remember how you made them feel, not how perfect your gifts and decorations are.

12 money tips for Christmas - Part 2 🎄7.Share the cost of Christmas. If you’re hosting Christmas for your family and friends, then make sure everyone contributes. Either everyone brings a dish, or you do the shopping, and everyone contributes to the cost. And also share the load - make sure it’s not just those hosting or the women that end up in the kitchen. 🎄8.Forego presents altogether. If you don’t like the mass consumerism of Christmas, then agree not to buy presents. Instead, place the focus of Christmas on those things that are important to you. 🎄9.Change your approach to presents. You can reduce the number of people you buy presents for, take part in a Secret Santa (where you pull a name out of a hat and only buy a gift for that person) and/or reduce the amount of money you spend on each present. Whatever you choose, it can still be fun and meaningful. 🎄10.Get crafty and make gifts. There’s something special about receiving a handmade gift. The list of potential handmade gifts is endless, e.g. biscuits, soap, cosmetics, cushions, clothes. You can also get something from Freecycle and upcycle it. Or pledge to do something nice, like give a massage or lawn mowing. 🎄11. Give to those less fortunate. After all, Christmas is the season of goodwill. You don’t even have to give money - you can give goods or your time. You can give toys that your children no longer play with to children in need. You can volunteer at a food bank. There are many options. 🎄12. Be kind to yourself. Even the best-laid plans can go wrong. And we’re currently in a cost-of-living crisis. So, do the best you can and don’t beat yourself up if things don’t go to plan. Being kind to yourself is always important. Let me know your tips in the comments. #retirerich #christmasmoneytips #personalfinance #moneycoach #moneymentor

Send as many gifts as you need quickly, and notify all your recipients immediately that you’ve sent them a gift. Whether you need 5 gifts or 500, it’s easy to send your warmest greetings to all your customers, colleagues, or employees — on time — before the gift arrives. The best part: it’s really easy and you only need one form, no matter how many gifts you’re ordering. 🎁😊 https://lnkd.in/eYF3zzr5

1️⃣ What’s one Christmas gift you wanted as a kid but never got? 2️⃣ Do you prefer using gift bags or wrapping paper to conceal gifts? 3️⃣ Do you return gifts you don’t like to the store or regift them to someone else? 4️⃣ How old were you when you found out Santa was really your parents? 5️⃣ If you have a Christmas tree, do you top it with an angel or a star? Or something else? Welcome to #FridayFunFacts 🤓 When I led my sales teams, one of the tools I used to get to know one another better over time was Friday Fun Facts. ✅ Create a GoogleSheet with each person’s name along the top columns. This will be where they enter their answers each week. ✅ On Mondays, craft up 5 questions for them to answer. The first column will be a rolling list of 5 questions you add to the GoogleSheet each week. ✅ Attach the GoogleSheet link in a calendar invite for 12 noon on Fridays so it’s an occurring meeting on their calendar. Most will complete well before Friday. ✅ Enjoy learning more about your team each and every week as they complete the questions. Best part…seeing your team connect on things they probably never would have known about one another. —— My answers: 1️⃣ A little unrealistic, but I always asked for a pool in our backyard! Video below is from ten years ago as my son Ben opened up a gift he thought he’d never get. 😂 2️⃣ I love to wrap so 99% of the gifts we give are wrapped. If there are multiple gifts for the same person, I use the same wrapping paper design for each gift for that person. 🤷🏻♀️ 3️⃣ If it’s a funny gift that I’ll never use? Def goes in the White Elephant pile to regift! 🎁 4️⃣ I was about 8 or 9 years old. I used to sleep in my older brother’s room on Christmas Eve when I was little and I SWORE I heard Santa’s sleigh one year. 😮 5️⃣ Angel 😇 it’s a homemade one from my mother-in-law and YES! I like it! Wishing you all the merriest season. Happy Friday, everyone 🙌🏻💯❤️

🎁 The Best Christmas Gift You Can Give? Sometimes, It’s Nothing! ❌ Holiday gift-giving can be stressful… ⚠️Someone buys you a gift, and you didn’t get them one; cue the guilt. ⚠️You exchange gifts, but their gift cost way more than yours; now it feels unbalanced. These feelings often lead to overspending on things people don’t even want, all to avoid the awkwardness; but here’s the thing, it’s okay to be honest! ✅ 1️⃣ Tell your friends and family you don’t want anything. Normalise skipping the gifts if they’re not truly needed. 2️⃣ If there is something you’d like, be upfront about it. Let’s save everyone the guessing game - because, spoiler alert: Santa isn’t real, and nobody can read minds! A thoughtful, stress-free holiday doesn’t have to cost a fortune. Focus on what matters most: spending time with loved ones, not money! 🎄
