There are undoubtedly serious concerns around how AI will change the workplace and it would be churlish to disregard people's worries. But as this piece by Tarja Strahlman highlights, there are also so many ways that people's jobs can be made better through the assistance that AI solutions can provide. We've seen the evidence through the real-life work we do. Job killer or job improver? What do you think? #AIRevolution #WorkforceOfTheFuture

A knowledge worker's job is often a collection of tasks. Some are high value tasks requiring specialist skills / knowledge. Others are low value, but necessary tasks. AI will automate tasks. Not jobs. We collectively need to train our teams to : ✔️Identify tasks that could be automated ✔️Build or find a tool that can do this with AI or Automation ✔️When machine learning can be used remember we training a machine ✔️Remind the team to use it responsibly, and to verify the output Bring your team with you on the AI journey =. Does generative AI truly impose danger to some jobs, or rather - offer an opportunity to give mundane repetitive and research tasks to tech, so that humans can concentrate on creativity and emotional intelligence? Hannah Murphy explores the peculiarities of retraining workers for the AI world in her recent Financial Times article. Khariton Matveev was able to share his view on the matter: “As AI takes on more “hard” components — like data, analysis, execution — the human role will shift to better understanding needs, what do clients really want and what should we do”. #generativeAI #AI #artificalintelligence #retraining #promptengineering

Redefining Employee Performance through Innovation & AI // Fractional HR Innovation & AI Strategist // Keynote Speaker // Mentor // FLPI
There is so much #ai information being posted that sometimes it is hard to know what to look at and what not to. Last week, at The LPI (Learning and Performance Institute) Learning Live Network I talked about this and wanted to share how I segment the posts I see. I use 4 buckets: 1️⃣ Computer Science & AI Industry posts: This keeps me updated with the latest AI trends more broadly. 2️⃣ Organisational and employee AI Posts: Focusing on how AI impacts employees and organisations. Often outside of L&D 3️⃣ AI in the learning industry posts: Focusing onboarding information from suppliers and SMEs. Really informative and a 'good to know' source. 4️⃣ L&D-specific posts: Focus on how AI impacts AI and L&D. I also save many different posts and, once a week, go back and review them. #aiinlearning #ai #learninganddevelopment #learning

A great article by my friend Ed Broussard - and see his summary comment - all professional services (especially consulting) need to embrace that AI is going to transform both their clients needs, and also the consulting offering.

Is AI coming for your job? Well, yes. Probably. I wrote this article for The Scotsman exploring the reality of AI's impact on the workforce. The truth is, it's not just a possibility—it's already happening. But AI replacing jobs doesn’t need to be a bad thing so long as people see it as an opportunity - just ask your local lamplighter! Check out my full thoughts in the article below. Let me know what you think! #AI #FutureOfWork #Technology #Careers Tomoro

How much AI can we use to feel less guilty? This article and many others show the diversity of opinions we have around using AI. The subject is quite tricky. But I think a few questions/points can help us decide if we are comfortable using AI in such writings. -Does AI enhance the quality of your application, or could it lead to generic, impersonal letters? Can you ensure your unique voice and experiences shine through when using AI tools? -Could it be a way to improve skills by learning from AI suggestions? e.g Converting academic language to business language? -Is AI a supplementary tool to assist you in the writing process or does it risk becoming a crutch that undermines your genuine effort and creativity. -Does AI give you an unfair advantage, or is it simply a tool to level the playing field? -Are employers more likely to view them positively as a sign of tech-savviness, or could they be skeptical of the authenticity of the application? It is obvious that AI has brought such a disruption that candidates and employers alike are having a hard time adjusting to the new dynamics. For candidates at least I think the balance between leveraging AI and maintaining personal authenticity is crucial. Things will never be the same again. #AI #learning

🔍 Understanding AI, LLMs, and Agents 🔍 Artificial Intelligence (AI) can seem complex, but let's break it down into simpler terms: What is AI? AI is a type of technology that enables computers to perform tasks that usually require human intelligence. This includes understanding language, recognizing patterns, solving problems, and even making decisions. What are LLMs? LLMs, or Large Language Models, are a specific type of AI. They are like super-smart text readers and writers. Here's how they work: - Learning Language: LLMs are trained by reading millions of books, articles, and websites. This helps them understand and generate human-like text. - Generating Text: When you ask an LLM a question or give it a task, it uses what it has learned to provide relevant and coherent answers or generate text on various topics. What are AI Agents? AI agents are like digital assistants that use AI to help with specific tasks. Think of them as specialized helpers: - Purpose: Each agent is designed to do a specific job, like answering customer service questions, sorting emails, or even helping doctors diagnose diseases. - Action: They use AI to understand the task and carry it out efficiently, often faster and more accurately than humans. What are Multi-Agent Systems? A multi-agent system involves multiple AI agents working together to achieve a goal. It’s like having a team of digital assistants that can: - Collaborate: Different agents can work on different parts of a problem and share their findings. - Specialize: Each agent can be an expert in a different area, contributing its unique skills to the team effort. Putting It All Together: Custom Rule Generation: This is a practical use of LLMs and AI agents within a multi-agent system. Imagine you have to keep up with new laws and company rules. An LLM can read and understand these new regulations. Then, a team of AI agents can use this information to automatically update your company’s compliance rules, ensuring you’re always up-to-date without having to manually track every change. By using AI, LLMs, AI agents, and multi-agent systems, businesses can save time, reduce errors, and stay ahead of complex tasks with ease. #UnderstandingAI #LLMs #AIAgents #MultiAgentSystems #TechnologySimplified #BusinessEfficiency #Innovation

How many prompts do you use to get the desired outcome using an AI tool? 2-3 or more? I have some good and bad news for you: First, the bad news: 😔 😰 For every 50 prompts using an AI tool, you use AND pollute about 500ml of water. (See image below to get an idea). I'm sorry I had to break it to you. Overusing AI is TERRIBLY adding to the water crisis the entire world is facing right now. But here are the good news: 😃 You don’t need AI to get better at AI. AI might have all the answers (although not quite the all the right ones), but YOU are the one who needs to ask the questions. And for that, developing your core #softskills is the KEY. ✅ To ask the right questions, you URGE critical thinking. ✅ To give enough context and explain it clearly, you need excellent #communicationskills. ✅ And to translate it into writing, you need practice and feedback -hopefully from a human, as they are the ones training AI. So, next time you decide to use AI, THINK TWICE before you hit enter with a poor prompt that will waste and pollute water. My advice: Work out your brain! Develop your soft skills and use AI consciously. All comments are welcome! ❤️🩹 + Please share. You too can help by raising awareness.
