Each day it can be hard to stay driven toward our mission, but this is important, even when the waters get a little choppy. Remember 1983 when Chuck Norris was "attacked" by a shark? Of course, the shark barely survived. lol —just like Chuck, when you’re clear on your purpose, nothing can knock you off course. We might not be facing sharks, but in business, distractions and challenges constantly try to pull us away from what really matters. Just like Chuck stayed focused (and fearless), we have to keep our eyes on the bigger mission, making sure our processes and daily actions serve that purpose. At Walmart that is Saving the customer money, and time, so that they can live better! So, when challenges arise, ask yourself: Am I pursuing my purpose, or just treading water? #PurposeDriven #NoSharksAllowed

eCommerce Strategist & Consultant | RETHINK Retail 2024 Top Expert | Producer for RWM Commerce Watson Weekend Podcast | Head of SponsorShip RMW Commerce | The V Spot Host
#ecommerce Time for the V spot - some investigative journalism coming up. After a $14B valuation and 1.4m eyebrows raised, I ask what does BOLT really stand for? Also not making the news, I recently went on a Temu binge to test some new shipping rules and since receiving my package, I have received only 21 SMS messages since my purchase. Nice to see they are cutting back on gamification in light of German regulatory clampdowns. This week in the news we have taken aim at: #Spanx Hy Heels for Hy price - what does she know we don't? #ASOS putting the shareholder at the heart of their strategy #whatcouldgowrong #TedBaker ill fated for ill fitting garments #loBig nglivepaisleylining #lessonsinleadershipfromtheolympics barf #shopify and #youtube get to second base (don't tell TikTok) Another HUGE story we cover is the Goliath vs Goliath tale of lawsuits between #Shein and #Temu #Starbucks Pumpkin spice = StarbucksBlackFriday #bolt LIghtening does strike twice #Amazon pharmacy - prime your way to substance abuse Also this week we covered the year in news to movie quotes from the 90s. Got Fomo? Join our newsletter. Why do this? Not just for the enjoyment of Hendrik Laubscher Mostly we do this, because it is fun. Our industry is under a cloud. I get asked alot how I manage to look so nonchalant or have a vacant, I just checked out look on. Those who speak to me know the answer. Book a call to find out. Or don't and wonder on. For all those newcomers to my timeline this week and those wondering what value I bring, this is it. In. ALL. ITS. GLORY. Who needs recession talk when all this fun stuff happens. Changed the time to see if we can infiltrate your lunchtime binging and get your news on. We are now inviting sponsor discussions. DM us for more details. We think this is right in the sweet spot for major platform providers with f*ck all to lose. Who fills that bucket? This was the week in ecommerce. Stay tuned next week This may be our finest work yet or maybe we took to day drinking. #retail #ukretail #usretail #Strategy #brandstrategy #TRE #TopRetailExperts

Did you know that the line from Oliver Twist is actually "Please, sir, I want some more.” and not "Please sir, CAN I have some more?" I didn't until I googled it to post this. Anyway, listen to my buddy ✨ Peter Wheeler ✨ and I talk about product-led growth and the free trial experience. #plg #productledgrowth

🌟 The Real Boss in Business: The Customer 🌟 Sam Walton, the founder of Walmart, shared a timeless truth: “There is only one boss: the customer. And he can fire everybody in the company, from the chairman on down, simply by spending his money somewhere else.” What does this mean for us in business? 👑 Customer is King: Every customer has the power to choose where they spend their money - like choosing which movie to watch. 👂 Listen and Adapt: It's crucial to understand what customers want and need, just like a chef tweaking a recipe to make it just right for their diners. 🏆 Long-term Success: Keeping customers happy isn’t just about making a sale today; it's about inviting them back again and again. Remember, in the world of business, the customer holds the ultimate power - their choice. Let's make sure we're always listening and adapting to keep them choosing us! #motivationalquotes #inspirationalquotes #entrepreneurmindset

In this case, Joe hara wohi Sikandar!
. I just saw this in Sainsbury's. It made me do a James Finlayson double-take (google him teens) and think 'there's a fuc*ing GREAT line.' (tiniest, teeeeniest bit of nit-picking criticism - if you go with 'Trump', you probably only need 'Biden' rather than 'JOE Biden')
