Right, so let's make an exception from the rule, that I don't post anything political on here (although I'm sure sometimes you can read between the lines with my other posts). So Boris Nadezhdin needed to collect 100,000 signatures from all over the country. According to the organisation's own claims they managed to collect more than double that. But they're only allowed to submit 105,000. Now, the Swiss among you will know, that you need at least a 10% margin for invalid signatures. So even if the electoral commission ran everything fairly (which of course they don't) it would be quite difficult to get to the 100,000 signatures. And of course they're finding many many more "invalid" signatures (what a surprise) and perhaps even build up a case of fraud against Boris. So I doubt he'll make it onto the ballot. I guess what I'm trying to say is: The whole system is rigged against candidates other than you know who. It's a complete farce and it's really obvious. But can't the Russian political elite at least admit they're not interested in true elections and save everybody the hassle? I mean, the Chinese don't even pretend to have national elections, so at least they're honest about it. https://lnkd.in/dQ4FZhvp
