Question for Buyers: When a brand demos, which of the following executions do you prefer? A. The brand brings little shop cups with sample servings and solicits customers in the store with the goal of selling out the shelf? B. The brand buys out the entire shelf, and surprises and delights customers with full-sized samples as they leave the store with the goal of those customers shopping your product on the next visit? I used to be firm A. But lately, I've been doing B and have had a WAY BETTER response from customers. I've polled store managers, and they appreciate B. But I've also heard folks want to see brands in the store sampling. If the goal is selling out the shelf, B does this immediately. With ZERO friction. What are your thoughts?
