We talked about SUSHI! I just interviewed a vibrant graduate who mentioned that they weren't sure whether to bring up their sushi making experience in a supermarket. I said ABSOLUTELY! We talked about things I had never even considered: - The complex process of making Sushi - The rice preparation process and time management - The various ingredients and memorising the process of each combination - The power of presenting Sushi and the challenges of mastering it - Speed, accuracy, quality checking and providing excellent customer service - Adhering to standards and safety procedures - Working under pressure and ensuring consistency Do not forget... when looking for a new role, it is all about YOUR story and how you present it in a relevant way. Here is a golden rule when deciding what to share: If you knew it well, loved it or were amazing at it, you should absolutely share it and make it relevant to the role you are applying to. In a world where it is hard to set yourself apart and be noticed, the best advice I can give you is to be YOU and lead with it. And to those running a recruitment process, the BEST thing you can do is help candidates extract what they are proud of in their experience and bring that experience to life in the process... The moment you help someone feel excited about themselves and feel a sense of pride within, they will feel excited about you in return, perform better in their interview, you will form a stronger relationship and they will imagine themselves working with you. #interview #recruitment #jobseekers #opentowork
