The Continental Policy round table at the last International Motorcycle Road Safety Congress gave us the opportunity to see what measures are being implemented to preserve the safety of motorcyclists in different countries, and how effective they are in different parts of the world. The second day of the International Road Safety Congress focused on the other elements of the Safe System (beyond the policies dealt with on the first day): users, vehicles and infrastructures. The last block of the International Motorcycle Road Safety Conference held in March addressed precisely this point. Innovative road markings for motorcyclists are successful. Taking the correct cornering line is an absolute must for motorcyclists. KFV, the Austrian road safety board, investigated the effect of innovative road markings for motorcyclists in risky Tyrolean curves and provided proof of success.
