Small agencies are not inherently better than large agencies. Large agencies are really just built of small teams. And there are absolutely brilliant people on these teams. You will never see us telling people to go with us because we are “boutique” as this is the laziest possible point of differentiation. And it just doesn’t hold up. As a client, you should invest time and money in the most brilliant team you can afford - regardless of the agency’s total headcount.

If you ever want to know how good of a culture you're in, come up with a great idea. Like, a really great one. The kind of idea that says something the planner never expected out of the brief. The kind of idea that stretches budgets and challenges timelines and has producers thinking, "I have no idea how we'll pull this off." Come up with a great idea, and see how everyone around you acts. Do they meet the challenge by thinking creatively, with a problem-solving mindset? Or do they throw sand in the gears, in an effort to slow momentum until the idea is discarded and an easier, more well-worn path is selected? The Department of People Who Make the Work Better is populated by people in every discipline of an organization – account, planning, media, project management, business management, production, legal, research, tech, finance, PR, HR, office management, creative... everyone. The question is, are you in it?

Decisiveness. That’s what makes a good director IMO. But decisiveness alone isn’t enough. Ya need humility. The kind that allows you to champion new ideas, collaborate at the highest level, and push a project forward without ego. Director Anna Kerrigan has both in spades. She knows exactly what she wants—but she also knows when to listen, when to adjust, and to trust the process. That’s what makes her a pro. 2025 is going to be a big year for her, both in entertainment and advertising (hint: the best brands know there’s not much of a difference). In PR, I’ve learned that the small things aren't just ‘small stuff’—they’re often the key to building and maintaining trust in us and client brand trust. So, when we were discussing a special delivery that needed to arrive in perfect condition, I stepped in to take ownership. When you’re responsible for a client’s reputation, every detail matters, including sweating the small stuff. Then there are also the small things that most do not see, but they are the building blocks for every brand and demonstrate understanding. The outcome was that I drove for two hours dropping packages over Auckland and used the time in the car to plan and consider upcoming projects. #business
