#warriormindset #warriors Below is a verse from one of my poems, "Warrior" from my book of inspirational poetry, "Where Faith Takes Flight" that I thought I would share with you today. Ephesians 6:17 (NIV) states, "Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God." Worry robs our joy, and so many fears steal our freedom to live set free in Christ. Fears, worry, lead to anxiety and steals our joy. If we don't take every thought captive, before long these emotions can lead to bitterness, resentment, & lead to sinful pride which separates us from God. God will help us fight our battles, but only if we make the choice to seek His help, take every thought captive, & confess-repent of our sins to be forgiven & fully redeemed to live fearLESS and not a fearful life. When that happens the inner peace that comes with the newfound feeling of freedom is one of the most exhilarating feelings you can experience. But it can only happen, if you choose to let God fight your battles. That is what this poem is about. We all go through rough times, times of pain, emotional stress. I know that, at those times, I just want to curl up in a ball and hide. But God bids us Draw Near. This is a book that encourages us to do just that. One of my favorite quotes from Draw Near is:  It is in these dark, cold waters that God moves even closer. In the darkness, He lets us experience the inexpressible comfort of His presence. This means much to me right now, as we are walking through dark, cold waters. Each chapter discusses various people from the Bible who suffered from pain, discouragement, yet still clung to God. As a human, we are always yearning for a connection. A deep unconditional connection. A connection that completes us. A connection that makes no sense to our mind or heart or gut. We looked for this connection in our human relationships with our parents, children, neighbours, teachers, spouse, life-partners, business associates, colleagues, travel buddies, guru, sangha, communities, on LinkedIn and more. We looked for this connection in our deities in the name of god by going to temples, or creating temples in your house, by worshipping, rituals etc. We looked for this connection through our spiritual pursuits in an effort to connect with the self, in the ideas that we are limitless. Yet, none of these connections healed us, fulfilled us, satiated us, completely. There is always something missing Why?
