Feed mills play a crucial role in agriculture and animal husbandry by producing high-quality animal feed to meet the nutritional requirements of livestock. It's never been just about making enough, though. Feed mills turn raw materials into animal welfare. They turn processes into profitability. They turn feed quality into food safety. They turn efficiency into innovation. They turn one-light towns into global growth. Animal agriculture continues to evolve and address emerging challenges. We're proud to partner with the world's feed producers to ensure a safer, more sustainable food chain.

Happy World Poultry Day! Poultry-based food is one of the world's fastest growing protein sources and has created an outstanding industry worldwide. However, to meet customer demand, the production of poultry meat has evolved into a high-capacity production where one of the greatest challenges has been, and still is, finding solutions to maintain good animal welfare standards while maintaining time efficiency, productivity and good profit. There is one important part where we can make a difference, and that is the last step in poultry life. To make it as stress and pain free as possible. Whether it’s the everyday routines at the farm, during an emergency, or in the slaughterhouse, maintaining respect for the animal is our main focus. #RoomForImprovementTimeForChange #poultryindustry #innovation #madeinsweden

In livestock farming, it’s normal for supplements to be injected into drinking water to help prevent the spread of disease. However, it’s essential that dosing is performed with the utmost accuracy to avoid jeopardising animal welfare. That’s why SEKO’s dosing pump and control systems are used by farmers worldwide, with their constant dosing, high precision and consistency meaning operators can have complete confidence that livestock drinking water is always properly treated. Meanwhile, our range of portable and wall-mounted spray and foam-cleaning systems ensure surfaces in buildings such as cowsheds and milking parlours can be regularly washed and disinfected with ease as part of a safe, healthy environment. 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞-𝐛𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐩𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐩𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐫𝐲 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 Providing high quality food for the world population is one of the main challenges for animal agriculture. The goal is to produce safe, nutritious, and affordable animal protein, while maintaining animal welfare and minimize the impact on the planet. Personally, I believe that poultry production will continue to play an important role in the requirements for high-quality protein. It’s nutrient rich, generally affordable, and independent of religion. Meanwhile, society demands more systems that are perceived as animal-friendly. However, public perception does not always correspond to reality. Scientific literature indicates that there is still a lot of misconception about for example, the use of growth promoters and cage-free rearing. The importance of animal welfare remains unquestionable. There are many new initiatives to promote and to support animal welfare. And interpretation, expectation, and application of guidelines that support animal welfare and sustainability, don’t have to interfere with the expected performance. They can coexist to reach a certain goal. Therefore, the demand for science-based welfare practices, in coexistence with poultry production research needs to continue. Three points where I think research themes can be applied together: 1. 𝐁𝐢𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 Protecting poultry flocks from contamination and diseases is essential for every commercial poultry producer. Introduction to a disease can have serious consequences, as in economic losses for the producer, but also for health and welfare issues for birds. 2. (𝐅𝐚𝐫𝐦) 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 The need for optimal farm management is often underestimated in order to comply to animal welfare. Bird management, but also, the environmental impact of your management strategy, feed sources and quality, and energy management have an impact. 3. 𝐃𝐚𝐭𝐚 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 Collecting data provides valuable information, but it still stands on itself. Use data as a tool to reach the goal. Although this will not be easy, I believe that merging research will address many future challenges. #broilermanagement #poultry #biosecurity #welfare #sustainability

The livestock industry is evolving towards more ethical and sustainable practices, focusing on animal welfare, social demands, and regulatory compliance. The European Union is at the forefront of this movement, setting rigorous standards that drive innovation and commitment. In response, we have developed "Nutri Salus," a nutritional solution designed to enhance animal welfare and ease dependence on medications. Why did we create #NutriSalus? 1️⃣ Animal Welfare: Provide safer and healthier nutrition for animals 2️⃣ Social Demand: Address bacterial resistance to antibiotics 3️⃣ European Legislation: Comply with regulations to reduce medication use This is just the beginning of our journey with "Nutri Salus." Our solution incorporates various advanced nutritional technologies, which we will explore in detail in future posts. 👉 If you’re interested in learning more about this solution for a more sustainable future, feel free to connect with us directly on LinkedIn. . . . #Nutrisalus #Omegafeed #livestock #agriculture #sustainability
