The approaching anniversary of October 7th brings a solemn reminder of the ongoing pain and loss experienced by the global community. The reverberations of that day continue to bring more communities and people into an expanding conflict. As we know from the Peacemakers in Action Network, even in the midst of war, there are people and organizations in active conflict zones that continue their work to foster lasting peace and dialogue across differences. They rarely make headlines, but their works for peace ring loud, and Tanenbaum amplifies their call. Below are resources to foster respect across communities and support each other in times of crisis. While the future is uncertain, we know there are people and organizations who hold a vision for communities of mutual respect. Together, we can, and we must see beyond conflict to create the conditions for a collective and lasting peace. We invite you to check out our resource which includes a non-exhaustive list of organizations bravely promoting dialogue and support for those affected by this ongoing conflict. 👉 https://lnkd.in/dUqybMmM

Today we observe the anniversary of the National Apology to the Stolen Generations, which occurred on 13th February 2008. We acknowledge the sorrow and resilience of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples, whose children were forcibly taken from their families, and recognise the importance of today in the healing journey. Beddown, as a part of inCommunity, stands together for healing and solidarity to promote truth-telling and empowerment for First Nations Peoples.

NOT SHAMEFUL TO REMEMBER Memories of war enable our society to remember the past, to express appreciation to those who sacrificed their lives and willingly served our country. At the same time we also need to acknowledge and accept that on occasions, events and happenings from the past, which would be considered unnecessary today, occurred for significant and highly acceptable reasons. Those of us today should never feel guilt nor shame for these actions, which some are constantly demanding that we do. This is why we, as Australians, come together every ANZAC Day. We do it to commemorate the ANZAC’s and their achievements: we should remember them though, not as old soldiers from a forgotten war, but as the young Australians each of them were in 1915, when they left our shores to defend Australia. Remembering moments from our history allows us as a society to learn from them and to move forward in a positive and determined manner. We cannot change history and nor should we, but we can and should learn from it. Australians young and old, will always remember them.

On Patriot Day, we honor the resilience and unity that emerged from 9/11. Let's continue to build a world defined by hope, compassion, and strength. Why should we hold Patriot Day close to our hearts? Because it serves as a powerful reminder of our shared humanity and the values that bind us together—courage, compassion, and the unwavering commitment to rebuild and move forward. In remembering 9/11, we honor not only those who were lost but also the countless individuals who demonstrated extraordinary bravery and kindness in the aftermath. 🕊️Reflect on Resilience. 🕊️Foster Unity. 🕊️Support Those Affected. 🕊️Promote Acts of Kindness. 🕊️Educate and Remember. This Patriot Day, let’s honor the legacy of 9/11 by embracing resilience and unity. Together, we can continue to build a world defined by hope and compassion. #PatriotDay #Remember911 #ResilienceAndUnity #HonorTheFallen #911Legacy #ActsOfKindness #NeverForget #911Remembrance

Digital Design Theologian: I teach others to write theology through poems, prose and digital images.
The time is now for peacemakers. The time is now for safe cities where families can live and breathe. The time is now for dreamers and poets and artists who aren’t us to survive and thrive. The time is now to remove violence’s raw and itchy seam. No more unholy sacrifice. Life for life for life. For life! We need a pan-Middle East peace deal. We need a new fabric, a new set of old priorities, a new and ancient peaceful stream!

The ideology of tyranny is winning the day. While battles rage, ideology is only really extinguished when a new, more powerful ideology supplants the old. This may take a generation. The point is, we can't delay. The ideology of peace must be developed, improved methods for communication and propagation of ideas created. Peace starts before the rage of war begins. If we wait for the current ideologies of hate to run their course - war will be all around and potentially modern civilization lost. We must work as hard before the battle as we do in the battle. Objectives, strategy, tactics, tasks and skill. The formula for executing war is the same for peace. Stay peaceful. https://a.co/d/bOLcgh9

And just like that, #TheBerlinMoot has come to an end. We are so grateful for everyone's hard work and dedication over the last two days and sincerely appreciate the insightful reflections.
