This is not a sales post (we're already sold out). This is an insight into the evolution of VMP (Vinyl Me, Please).
Over the past year I've challenged our company to think about what it is we actually sell. Many conclude "records" - it's in the name! But in reality a vinyl record is simply a very good doorway to an experience...a human, tangible, transcendent experience.
An experience that can bring back a flood of memories and emotions. One that can calm the soul, or bring it pain, bring hope or deep regret, reflection or escape...self-discovery.
So if what we're actually selling is a tangible, transcendent experience, and not records, then a beautiful piece of art can exist in this space incredibly harmoniously, just as it has in the homes of music & art fans for hundreds of years.
The video here is one of our first forays into this expanded analog world...where a limited-edition art print offers the same portal and invitation as a vinyl record.
To celebrate the VMP release of Willie Nelson's 'Phases and Stages', and its feature in March Essentials, we had the privilege of working with legendary artist Mike Mitchell on some original 12x16 giclee prints, printed by LA’s Static Medium.
Both are now sold out, but serve as a beautiful illustration of the luxury of human, tangible, finite objects in an increasingly anxious, digital world.

Castle Windsor Duke: a special friend.
I didn't know this English brand before until our friend Audioevolution-HiFi showed me a pair. As soon as he told me that the Dukes had arrived and that they had been designed by Karl Heinz Fink and his Fink Audio team, I ran to him for a listen. They are built with great quality and excellent materials, they remind me of the Haberth; they are sold with proprietary stands.
As soon as I took them out of the box and left them to run in for a few hours, I could already feel that I had something special in front of me. After about a week I went back to listen to them with a bit of running in and was extremely impressed with what I heard. The reproduction is very fluid and very natural, the soundstage is well structured with a very precise image. It doesn't want to impress in any way, it's all perfectly balanced, but it's not as boring as you might think, on the contrary, it keeps you listening for hours without fatigue. The low range is incredibly precise and controlled, rich and dynamic and at the same time manages to go so low you'd believe there was a subwoofer at play. The medium-high range had no flaws with the reproduction of the instruments, nor was it invaded or not very present: perfect, balanced, a truly realistic reproduction. There are many competitors in this price range but this is the best speaker overall. Don't get carried away by the trend with the usual products, because this is truly something special.
