What to Read This ##Summer 📚 ARCHITECTURE POLICIES IN EUROPE: A panorama of the actors, policies and tools promoting high-quality #Architecture and #Baukultur as the new political ethos in Europe. The Architect's Council of Europe has released earlier this year a publication presenting the findings of a pan-European survey on architectural policies, providing an overview of the origins and spread of architectural policies across the continent, main institutional actors involved, the progress of implementation efforts, tools and initiatives promoting design quality, and examining the resulting impact on urban design governance processes. The #architecture #policies are developed and delivered by the public sector in alliance with a wide range of institutions, where the architectural professional organisations are deeply involved and supportive of a better quality of life for everyone. What to Read This #Summer 📚 'High-quality Architecture and Built Environment: a Political Goal'. On the occasion of a workshop organised as part of the 2023 UIA World Congress of Architects CPH 2023, the Architects' Council of Europe (ACE-CAE) and the Region I of the International Union of Architects (UIA - International Union of Architects Region I) released a joint publication entitled 'High-quality Architecture and Built Environment: a Political Goal'. This publication puts the spotlight on recent policy initiatives, at EU and national levels, that support a high-quality architecture and built environment, as well as Baukultur. High-quality #Baukultur is about society’s responsible handling of its built environment and its architecture.It requires and implies an increased participation of society in care for, and development of, the built environment, but also quality-based processes throughout the life-cycle of projects. Baukultur is a holistic approach, which cares for and seeks to achieve a sustainable society, with quality of life and collective well-being for all.
