Starting Something New: Sharing My Journey on LinkedIn I’m finally taking the step to share my professional journey here on LinkedIn! 🎤 If you know me, you know I love telling stories, making people laugh, and adding a bit of fun to everything I do. But today, I’m stepping out of my comfort zone and bringing that same energy into the professional world. I’ll be talking about careers, strategies, job market trends, and things that make me curious. But don’t worry—it won’t be all serious (because let’s face it, we all need a bit of fun too!). Life’s too short not to enjoy it, even when we’re talking business. One thing I’ve learned is that no matter where we go, we should bring our personality along. I've resisted, because honestly that feels a little vain, but I'm now planning on doing it. So what are the topics that you all want to discuss or hear about? Leave a comment below, or send me a DM.

I think I accidentally found a niche and I don’t know how to feel about it 😂 I recently wrote a series on Substack about exiting traditional work (being a full time employee or full time founder) to build a portfolio career made up of many projects, clients, income streams and creative pursuits. As it turns out, the ‘portfolio career’ is a topic that: a) feels authentically aligned with my skills and experience b) I absolutely love writing about c) will allow me to have far reaching impact, and d) others want to read and learn about The strategic side of my brain is telling me to go all in and focus my newsletter on this new type of work structure, but the other side of my brain is having a meltdown because a ‘niche’ is antithetical to the very idea of a portfolio career, which is all about honouring your many interests, passions and curiosities. Also it’s worth noting that I’ve been writing every single day for the past 18 months without any niche in mind, and this is the first time I’ve stumbled across something that I feel I could talk at length about. Good things take time, evidently. A good reminder to stick with it and trust the process ❤️

You are so much more than: → Your 9 - 5 → Your resume → A team player → A good worker → "Great job guys" → An employee number → An attaboy and kudos → Your weekly one on ones → Half-yearly performance review → "We will consider your promotion" The truth is → you’re valuable. More valuable than your role. More valuable than your deliverables. More valuable than even what you believe. That’s why I’m on LinkedIn where I can talk about: My leadership experience by being a business owner, My expertise in multifamily real estate investing, My adaptability in facing different difficulties, My grit in succeeding in a new experience, My humbleness in building my desired life, My hustle in seeking new income streams, My passion for helping other professionals, My clarity of thought and vision. Everybody has something valuable to share. YOU have something valuable to share. Your life is worth more than just your title. Don't let the voice in your head stop you from a higher calling. I used to be afraid of sharing anything I created. This fear stopped me from trying new things. Like most people, I: - Feared rejection - Doubted my abilities - Assumed whatever I created had to be perfect Through a journey of self-improvement, I realized: - Everyone dealt with the fear of rejection  - Improving abilities through practice boosts confidence - Nothing can ever be truly perfect. You can’t impact a world you don't interact with. Don't rob the world of what you have to offer. Share your ideas! Consultants and Strategists: When you ignore self-actualization, you: → Limit personal growth → Stifle creativity → Reduce job satisfaction → Hinder innovation → Increase burnout → Lower professional visibility → Miss networking opportunities → Decrease overall impact all while stalling your career. So do this instead: → Set clear personal goals... → ...and align them with professional aims → Seek continuous learning → Build a strong personal brand → Engage in meaningful networking → Share your expertise openly → Prioritize mental and physical well-being And most of all, embrace a growth mindset and stay curious. The result? Building a portfolio career that involves multiple jobs, clients, projects and income streams is pretty wild when you think about it. I own a business but I’m not a traditional founder. I don’t have employees or investors, or any of the fanfare that comes along with building something huge, but I have infinite earning potential and the freedom to choose what I work on. On the flip side, I have ongoing clients and regular commitments but I’m not tied to a full time job. I don’t have annual leave or a guaranteed paycheque, but with locked-in retainers and while building scalable revenue on the side, I sleep easy knowing I can put food (and wine) on the table. While designing my portfolio career I’ve strategically cherry picked the best parts of both worlds - the financial security of a job and the freedom of not having one. I appreciate this sounds like a dream and in many ways it is, but it’s taken a lot of experimentation and up skilling to get here.
