Considering joining a Summer School at the end of year 12 or AS year, before proceeding to the final year 13 or college A2 and before joining the university gives you a number of benefits. You get to experience briefly living at the university hall of residence/accommodation, attend lectures at your desired degree course department, you get some more insights about the degree course that you aspires to pursue, e.t.c. Check whether the university offers Summer School online course or you have to attend the university physically. Although I have mainly covered on the United Kingdom Summer Schools, other European countries do offer Summer School in preparation into joining the university. Again, check any other universities across the world and see what they do offer in preparation to the same or equivalence to the Summer School.
