The First Successful Investment of Euro Games Funding Club (EGFC) : Zero Games Studios 🏆 Euro Games Funding Club recently made its first successful investment in Zero Games Studios, an innovative Paris-based studio specializing in console porting and co-development. Selection Process We selected Zero Games Studio after a rigorous analysis of their potential and vision. The studio's long-term stability, having operated for over 10 years, and the dedication of its founders and team were significant factors in our decision. Their strategy to target a niche of gamers that has been underserved in recent years was particularly compelling, as it faces less competition. Furthermore, their ability to generate revenue through service provider activities while mastering the entire production chain—from concept to gold master—reassured us of their technical capacity to complete the project and ensure timely repayment. This alignment with our investment strategy, focused on PC and console games, reinforced our confidence in the studio. Our selection process included a comprehensive analysis of the studio's financial health, reputation checks with current and past partners, and an evaluation of produced titles. We also conducted thorough verifications of their business and financial plans, bank accounts, and usual checks such as statutes, identity, integrity, and shareholder composition. Project Details In May, we invested €250,000 in Zero Games Studio, allowing the studio to retain talents and accelerate the production of a new game. Specifically, the investment is being used to overhaul the graphical and narrative aspects of their game, which had to be paused for over a year, and to improve the game/level design aspects. By moving the project from Alpha to Gold Master, this financial support is crucial for transforming the stalled production into a revenue-generating asset, thereby increasing the studio's market visibility and financial stability. Impact of the Funding Thanks to our support, Zero Games Studio was able to: • Maintain a talented team 👥 • Resume development on a halted production 🎮 • Increase their market visibility 📈 Testimonial "Thanks to EGFC's support, we were able to restart the production of our game and keep our talented team active. Their flexibility and understanding of production challenges have been invaluable." Pierre-Luc Vettier, Co-founder of Zero Games Studio. This first success marks the beginning of a series of strategic investments aimed at supporting the video game industry in Europe. #Investment #VideoGames #EGFC #SuccessStory

This morning the London-listed video games developer Keywords Studios announced that it's received a £2 billion approach from the Swedish private equity firm EQT Group. The proposal of 2,550p per share gives a substantial 73.5% premium over Keywords’ undisturbed share price, above the three recent comparable deals (see below). What chance it might prompt a rival bid? Given the high level of competitive activity in the UK market this year, it's a possibility worth considering. Notably, in 2020, the UK-listed video game studio Codemasters received competing bids - from Take-Two and EA. While EQT's offer is strong, an industry bidder might be able to unlock more value from Keywords Studios than a financial buyer, potentially justifying a higher bid. #londonstockexchange #manda #mergersandacquisitions

When initially dreaming up The Indie Game Awards with the Six One Indie crew a few years back, there has always been one crystal clear fact: we gotta do it right. Here’s a brief glimpse into our approach. 🔹 While we’re behind the organization and production of the show, it ain’t “The Six One Indie Awards.” It’s The Indie Game Awards. When it comes to the presenters, the judges, and partners, we’re inviting diverse voices from across all aspects and roles within our industry who share our passion the indie scene to help us celebrate the games and the creators behind them. 🔹 We’re crafting a broad range of unique categories dedicated to celebrating the best of the global indie scene across all platforms, services, and storefronts (we see you, Playdate Catalog) no matter the size or scope of the project. Similar to the Six One Indie Showcase: zero barriers, no gatekeeping. 🔹 Speaking of which, it is not a games showcase. We have our productions dedicated to unveiling upcoming and recently released indies ahead of PAX East and West. This is a show to celebrate excellence throughout the indie scene for those who crossed the finish (or early access) line; a feat of its own. 🔹 All killer, no filler. We’re straying away from traditional ad-space or commercial spots for funding. Instead, we’re looking for authentic sponsorships from partners who are as passionate towards celebrating indies as we are. 🔹 The biggie: giving the developers their time to shine! Blood, sweat, tears, and years are poured into crafting these unbelievable experiences. The folks behind them deserve their moment without any interruption. #indie #indiegames #indiegame #indiedev #gamedev #awards

What are your pillars of success for your gaming studio? Without these pillars, your studio will fail 100% of the time. #1 Pillar (Great Development Team): You need a great development team to make great games. But what makes a team great? A great team is made of creatively problem solvers and technically sound individuals with a collaborative and inclusive culture. But does only a good team guarantee a great game? No. #2 Pillar (Great Management): Without experienced and goal-aligned management, a great development team on its own cannot make a great game, as management will be steering the direction of the ship. But again, do you think good management and a solid development team can make a great game on their own? NO. #3 Pillar (The Actual Game Idea): Without the right idea and the right genre, which the entire development and management team have experience in, the game will fail. Building the right game concept is key; otherwise, you will build the wrong kind of great game which will not sell. So, your game idea is KING. Above are the pillars for our studio. As we are not trying to make existing kinds of game ideas but bringing fresh elements to proven genres, these pillars of success are important to us. Leave down below what your success pillars are. #royalmatch #mobilegames #retention #ltv #Match3 #puzzle #gamedesign #monetization
