Musicians are almost four times as likely to develop noise induced hearing loss as the general public. It is also the only fully preventable cause of hearing loss, which is why having high quality ear protection is so important. Hearing loss has significant negative impacts on a person’s life, such as social withdrawal due to difficulties communicating with others, emotional distress caused by a drop in self-esteem and confidence, and for musicians it can mean an inability to make music, for some that may even mean losing their career and source of income. When you give $10 a month you fund an audiology exam with a professional audiologist and a pair of custom earplugs. Your donation will ensure we can continue to provide access to life-changing hearing care and a whole array of healthcare services for our local musicians. Our goal is to raise $14,000 before the end of the day on April 12th. Can you pitch in $10 a month to help us reach our goal? https://lnkd.in/g69sqD5Y

A recent video I saw stirred memories of school days, where sharing Pilot pen ink symbolized friendship. It highlighted the value we placed on those moments, equating them to the importance of blood donation. Just as each drop of ink mattered for our pens, each drop of blood counts in saving lives—a tribute to generosity and the bonds formed through childhood friendships and acts of giving. . . . . . . . #firsttimeceos #ceosgurukul #ceos #leadership #leadershipinsights #leadingceos #networking #businessleadership #scalingbusinesses

Why should you care about making a donation? It could be to support: Performing Arts; Health Care; Medical Research; Medical Technology; Fellowships; Public and Patient Information; or, Continuing Education If I told you that organizations I’ve led have awarded individual grants ranging from $500 to $1,000,000 – would that make you excited to support one of them? Would it matter that individuals at 26 institutions were chosen as recipients this year? Impressive – maybe. But what does this tell you about the difference your donation will make? Ask me about what it takes to tell a story that inspires donors to make a contribution.

Hello LinkedIn world and network of friends! I haven't been on in a bit but I have taken a campaign that I feel passionately about. The Presbyterian Ear Institute is running a Wine, Women and Shoes event in which they will have a pseudo Gala but I think a lot more fun. Simply put, women will bid on shoes, get a great spread of food and of course served wine. Now comes my part. I have been tasked with raising 10,000 dollars by September 6th. I have made a quarter of my goal already and I need your help to get me there. I rarely ask for donations and if you remember correctly I undertook and raised a copious amount of money from holding golf tournaments and corporate sponsorships. This particular campaign will have to be more of a grass root individual based contributions. If you can spare as little as 50 dollars and go up if you can, these add up and I will make my goal. I just know it and I've been blessed to have an overwhelming amount of friends but I need to use my FULL reach to make my goal. Please click on the link below and PLEASE share my post. The Presbyterian Ear Institute gives the children who newly acquired the gift of hearing, the ability to use this sensory item. They are able to learn to read, write and speak as the development of these traits is obviously stunted or slowed immensely if they remain deaf. With this schooling PEI offers, the students are able to join the real world and have a better chance of succeeding versus remaining deaf. Here a few facts about the statistics with the deaf community. -Only 8% of deaf people graduate college -The average reading level is that of a 4th grader -1/3 need assistance through another person for life -Only 1% of the world knows sign language These are harsh statistics and while many have been able to fluorish the ability to give a completely deaf child hearing is nothing short of a miracle. The efforts of PEI and the aftermath from the schooling is touching. What a time to be alive eh! Again, I feel passionate about this and this is why for the first time I have reached to you, my friends, to deliver on my 10,000 goal. Again, please click the link below. Give it a read and donate what you can AND share this post. Thank you as it's a blessing already to have the support you have given in any of my endeavors. https://lnkd.in/gRjUh3nB -Grant

Did you know that despite NDIS funding, there remains a gap in covering the full costs of providing specialist care for children who are deaf? To bridge this gap and ensure every child can learn to listen and speak, we rely on generous donations. 🙏 With more children being diagnosed with hearing loss every year, the need for support is greater than ever. Our 24-hour Giving Day on Wednesday, 28 August 2024, is a critical opportunity to make a difference. Thanks to the generosity of our partners, all donations made on Giving Day will be doubled, up to $105,000. This means your contribution will go twice as far in helping children like 1-year-old Louie, who is improving his listening and speech skills with tools like the Learn to Listen sounds. In the lead-up to Giving Day, we'll be sharing insights from our clinicians on some of these sounds. We encourage parents and guardians to try them out—it's a fun and effective way to support your child's spoken language development. Let’s kick off this campaign with the ‘Roar’ sound, just like a lion! 🦁 Stay tuned for more updates on the Learn to Listen sounds as we count down to Giving Day. For those eager to roar into action early, you can donate here: https://lnkd.in/gZHQwuNe All donations in the lead up to Giving Day will also be matched. #GivingDay2024 #TSCGivingDay #TheShepherdCentre #HearingLoss #AmplifyPossibility

Our hearing changes constantly, even with treatment. If it's time to upgrade to a new pair of hearing devices, consider donating your old equipment to help others in need who cannot afford them. We've collected the names of some organizations that may be able to take used hearing devices. https://lnkd.in/grf-wEuG #hearing #audiology #hearingaid #recycle
