🌊Great session yesterday at #oceanologyinternational on offshore #renewables site selection and #development. If you are an #offshorewind developer and you were not in the room, the key points to take away from the discussion are: 💡 The industry cannot come with a standardised multiclient SoW, as beyond the ISO codes, every SoW is subject to a desktop study, ground conditions, foundation type, etc. 💡 The SoW should be fit for purpose and tailored to reduce uncertainty rather than to produce a dataset. 💡 As the geo-risk is less discussed than the financial risk but equally important; it might be a good idea to involve/inform shareholders and insurance companies about the link between desktop studies and risk reduction. 💡 A thorough geophysical campaign pre-FID will contribute to a better ground model which will reflect in better informed decisions (increased DEVEX, decreased CAPEX). 💡 AUVs and USVs can provide a safer alternative for data acquisition. Meet me next week at #windeurope2024 in Bilbao to find how Fugro can help you minimise your georisk.

Could you invest more pre FID and ensure a better overall cost for your OWF? Join us now at the Futures Theatre at #oceanologyinternational for an unstaged discussion about site selection and site characterisation spending. Reach out to the Fugro team for our #geoconsultancy and #offshorewind services to talk about project optimisation pre FID.
