I have always been an early riser, since childhood. My school bus would come at 6:30am, therefore I had to wake up at 5:15am. And, since we had school six days a week, over the years it turned into a habit. This habit is not something that was built in a few days or few months. This habit is an outcome of repeatedly following a routine for 14 years, from pri-primary to Grade 12, and then carrying it through college years and beyond. Habits take time. If you want to build exercise as a part of your daily routine, you have to practice it regularly, so that it becomes a part of you and your daily routine. #nutritioncoaching #habitcoaching #mindsetmatters

Day 26: Building habits together. Consistency is the key to forming lasting habits in our children. Just like it takes about three weeks for a habit to take root, our commitment to modeling behavior and gently encouraging our kids to join us is crucial. By establishing routines and repeating actions consistently for at least three weeks, we lay the foundation for positive habits to flourish. Even after this period, it's normal for kids to forget occasionally, but it's up to us as parents to maintain consistency and continue to reinforce the behavior every time. Over time, these habits become ingrained in their personality, shaping them into responsible and disciplined individuals. Let's commit to nurturing good habits that will benefit our children for a lifetime. 🌱💪 #BuildingHabits #ConsistentParenting #Day26 ##APTParenting

Keeping it simple! Breathwork practices that work and are easily integrated for a small child work just as effectively for an adult. We may ensure children set aside 30 - 60 seconds, the best way to support your own child, or perhaps a child you teach, is to role model. This simple breathing practice balances the breath and the nervous system (let's face it, there are moments of every day we can all use this!) Breathing practices don't have to be complicated to be effective. Adding in the sensory element of seeing and feeling to this technique adds an additional layer of focus and grounding. Give this a go...and while you're at it, why not do it again on the other hand! This will require additional focus as you use your non-dominant hand (requiring the mind to focus on this for a moment and not the worrying thoughts) Carmel 😊 Email carmel@sagewellbeing.ie website www.sagewellbeing.ie ##backtoschool #teachers #schoolanxiety #schoolstress #simplebreathingtechniques

#MondayMotivation: How are you holding onto your resolutions? One week into the year and I've maintained 5:45a wakeup and workout or dog walk, as well as restarted my ice bath routine in the mornings. 41 degree water for 3 minutes is definitely not fun, but I've found it helps to kickoff my day by doing something that I really DON'T wanna do. If I can maintain that discomfort to kickoff the day, I can put my energy in the right place if something comes up that is outside of my control (kids, work, etc.). Find the best way to make your resolutions stick and always #presentwithpassion

Building emotional intelligence starts early, and it's one of the most valuable skills we can help children develop. 🌱 These are also skills we adults need to come back to again and again making sure we too know how to name our feelings and also practice calming strategies. One of the keys is teaching emotional vocabulary. When we help children name their emotions, we're giving them the tools to understand what they’re feeling. This makes those big, sometimes overwhelming emotions feel less daunting and much more manageable. Imagine how empowering it is for a child to recognize, "I’m feeling frustrated," instead of just feeling overwhelmed! 💬 But it doesn’t stop there. We also need to practice calming strategies. Simple techniques like deep breathing, counting to 10, or even visualizing a peaceful place can make a world of difference when a child feels like their emotions are too big to handle. Just watch my 6yr old Shalom... I love the simplicity of her calming techniques! By guiding kids in these small but powerful ways, we're not just helping them navigate their current world—we’re setting them up for success in all the challenges life throws their way. And we are being reminded why these skills are a must for all of us!! ❤️ #EmotionalIntelligence #ChildDevelopment #LifeSkills #Resilience #Parenting #GrowthMindset #SocialEmotionalLearning #MentalHealthMatters #EarlyChildhoodEducation #Mindfulness #PositiveParenting #EmpathyMatters #TeachingTools #CalmingTechniques #SelfAwareness #RaisingResilientKids #Wellbeing #ParentingTips #CLAUDESILVER

W E D N E S D A Y 🌬️🌫️🌦️🍃🍂🍁🌾 "𝑰𝒇 𝒊𝒕 𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒔 𝒕𝒓𝒖𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒏 𝒊𝒕'𝒔 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒚𝒐𝒖. 𝑰𝒇 𝒊𝒕 𝒅𝒐𝒆𝒔𝒏'𝒕 𝒂𝒑𝒑𝒍𝒚 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒏 𝒍𝒆𝒕 𝒊𝒕 𝒇𝒍𝒚." ♾️ This is your midweek reminder to take a little time for self-care. Listen to your body. Check with your emotions. Stretch, hydrate, and nourish yourself. It's a shortened week, and it may have you and/or your body feeling sluggish; the children and students may be off of their routine; our minds may seem thrown off. 🌡️ Do a temperature check of yourself and others. 🎲 Choose battles wisely. 🗣️ Ease into the approach taken when confronting, delegating, redirecting, and consequencing. 📑 Today's post is about: Fight, Flight, Freeze, and Fawn 🧐 Growing up, I was very much in the freeze category. As I learn more about fawn, I believe that I fell into that category as well. Those were my coping mechanisms while in survival mode. 💭 Does this resonate with anyone? 💭 Can you relate? 📌 Read more on my case study provided for more! https://lnkd.in/ehD_hG7T #education #mentalhealth #emotions #feelings #selfregulation #selfawareness #coregulate #community #communication #author #guidebook
