Just finished attending ProductCon by Product School. One of the key takeaways was this insightful slide on monetization metrics, which breaks down the concepts of Growth, Retention, and Margins from Amplitude VP of Product Ibrahim Bashir. The way he broke down growth, retention, and margins provided a clear roadmap for how to think about product impact on revenue. As an aspiring PM, this is very useful for PM interviews, where execution questions often require a deep understanding of how product decisions drive business outcomes. By focusing on key metrics like Active Users, Net Promoter Score, Lifetime Value, and Customer Acquisition Cost, I learned how to articulate the value of product initiatives in a structured way. This not only helps in correctly identifying NSM but also in making data-driven decisions in real-world scenarios. I’m excited to apply what I have learned! #ProductCon #ProductManagement #Monetization

Attended #ProductCon 2024 in San Francisco today. Here are some takeaways I captured from the awesome speaker lineup: · Jon Alferness - Customer expectations are evolving rapidly, and AI is leveraged to meet these expectations through better search functionality and data insights. · Noam Lovinsky - Grammarly’s focus on solving real customer problems, rather than just chasing technological trends, is key to its sustained success. · Spenser Skates - Embedding innovation into the company culture encourages experimentation and enables companies to adapt continuously. · Donna Boyer - Empowering teams with ownership of decisions can prevent drift and improve overall alignment with company goals. · Michael Cieri - Company and culture must evolve alongside product expansion to sustain growth and meet customer needs. · Cecilia Liu, Andrew Jensen, Adam Dille - Customer-centric prioritization ensures that the most critical features are developed first, leading to higher user engagement and satisfaction. · Jeetu Patel - Continuous improvement and collaboration with competitors are necessary to stay ahead of evolving challenges. · Vrushali Paunikar - Hiring domain experts and systems thinkers is vital for building teams that can navigate complex product ecosystems. · Ajay Arora - Understanding customer needs and emotional engagement is key to building successful subscription models. Kudos to Carlos Gonzalez de Villaumbrosia and the Product School team for putting on an awesome event!

You can't focus on it all. It's incredibly difficult to context switch quickly enough to provide insight and solid decision making when you're running a complex product org. However, using tools like Vistaly has really helped me offload context into software, meaning my team and I have alignment and a shared understanding as we strive to build value for our customers. This webinar was a great reminder of how we can remain focused on the right stuff! Thanks Ant Murphy! https://lnkd.in/gxttDJdG
