How do you assess the quality of an evaluation conducted in a humanitarian setting? The OECD DAC criteria may work for 'standard' evaluations, but humanitarian settings sometimes have other special considerations. ALNAP developed the Quality Proforma in 2000/2001 as a way of assessing humanitarian evaluation reports. You can check it out here: https://lnkd.in/ePZWc-Ki According to ALNAP to ensure the quality of evaluations, focus on these key areas: 📌 Clear Terms of Reference (ToR) 📌 Appropriate Evaluation Methods 📌 Contextual Analysis 📌 Assessment of the Intervention 📌 Report Clarity and Accessibility ------- Join the upcoming webinar for real world examples of evaluations conducted in humanitarian settings. The event is conducted in collaboration with The Ukrainian Evaluation Association, where Dmytro Kondratenko will share practical insights with members of the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E ) Academy. This is important. But how do you use a process like this for example in responding to the Turkish earthquake? Or, for another more difficult example, the Palestinian situation that one of my daughters has been donating to. Then there is the situation in Sudan where 10 million people are essentially refugees. I would like to donate to that but how does one evaluate humanitarian aid in such a difficult situation?
