2 weeks ago, JMARK had its annual Holiday Party. While the celebrations and connections were great, what stood out was something that our Product Manager, Howard Trumbull, said: "Thank you to everyone who trusted us enough to let us know when we needed to do better." One of the most important elements of a company’s culture is its willingness to have what we call ‘Courageous Conversations.’ But to do that, you first need to create the environment and psychological safety for your team to feel comfortable to engage with discomfort. It’s not only something we practice internally, but with our clients, too. In fact, it’s largely the reason we were able to mend our relationship with a crucial client in the healthcare industry 2 years ago. All this is to say: ✅ Love the Truth, even when you don’t like it. ✅ Own your mistakes and outline your next step. ✅ Do what you say you’ll do when you say you’ll do it. ✅ Lead with compassion and empathy in your pursuit of accountability. — When our team feels safe enough to be unapologetically honest, we all grow stronger together. It gives us the courage to face hard truths, make things right, and become better—for our people, our clients, and ourselves.

Today is Herald’s 2nd anniversary. It was an idea on a napkin at a restaraunt. I have learned so many lessons in the last two years as the 100% owner of this business. See, I have owned two other businesses before but I was always the junior partner. This time around… Gettting the clients... Losing them… Making payroll… All of the reporting and accounting… Not to mention the actual client work itself… I know I have made a ton of mistakes - but there have been some major wins too. We grew 90% during year two. Year three is shaping up to be 40% growth. But mainly I’m working on margin management. Revenue is vanity. Profit is sanity. Margin is for humanity. I’m after the last!

If I could describe my week in 5 words it would be: nominations, anniversary, welcome, data and … chips. These are just some of the things I get up to in my job - as everyone says, every day is different! But these were some of my highlights: 🌟 Wrapping up the last week of #StaffAwards2024 nominations - and judging by our figures ahead of the deadline tonight it's safe to say our colleagues are very #MrcMetProud of each other and the contributions they make! 📅 Joining kick-off sessions for the next colleague engagement activity as part of Manchester Met's 200th anniversary celebrations. 🆕 Delivering our termly Welcome Event and Mcr Met Fair for new starters alongside my team. 💻 Testing out a PowerBI dashboard Mary Jane Hughes is building as part of a new colleague lifecycle survey process I implemented earlier this year. 🍟 And possibly the most fun part, trying out the new pop-up chip shop on campus for lunch today with MJ, Kay Fynan (Assoc.CIPD) and Tori! The best part is colleagues (and students) get 20% off every Friday - 10/10 would recommend. I'm ready to log off for a Bank Holiday birthday and some annual leave then come back to the best part of my job - sending out hundreds and hundreds of Staff Awards nominations for our colleagues to keep that gratitude going! #EmployeeEngagement #EmployeeExperience #Recognition

This year, we're celebrating 20 years of Kru - two decades that have shaped not just our company, but an entire community of creative professionals, clients and partners. From our humble beginnings in our founder Tom Eatenton's university accommodation to our current position as a global leader, we've built something truly extraordinary. Along the way, we've delivered unforgettable activations, supported countless events, created memorable brand moments and fostered genuine connections that extend far beyond traditional business relationships. What makes us most proud isn't just our global expansion or client successes - though these are certainly worth celebrating. It's the profound impact we've had on people's lives. Through Kru, talented performers have found sustainable careers when traditional paths seemed uncertain. Our projects have sparked numerous love stories, with team members finding life partners whilst working together. We've witnessed the formation of lifelong friendships, and seen many of our own team members evolve into valued clients. As we reflect on these two remarkable decades, we extend our heartfelt gratitude: To our agency Kru, past and present: Your dedication, creativity and resilience have been the backbone of our success. To our clients: Thank you for your trust and partnership, especially those who believed in us during our early years. To our long-standing partners: Your unwavering support has been instrumental in our journey. To our field teams: You bring our visions to life and make the impossible possible. To the families and friends of our team members: Your understanding and support during late nights, missed occasions and changing schedules has enabled us to build this extraordinary organisation. Here's to twenty years of creating extraordinary experiences, fostering meaningful connections and building a global community. Sunset. It’s a time of ending, a time of reflection, and reset. In our business it’s a time that we look at what we need to stop doing, to create space for things that need to come with the new day. We are wrapping up the things that need to come to completion, the things that are ready to be put to bed, and reviewing the things we have accomplished so far this year. Take a moment today and reflect on what needs to stop, how far you’ve come this year, how many people you’ve helped, and what last items need to be wrapped up. Here’s what we’ve done this year: ✅ Helped hundreds of employees protect themselves and their families. ✅ Met so many new people and helped introduce them to people they need to know. ✅ Created a new brand and launching it (officially) on Dec 11th. ✅ Appreciating how far we’ve come and being open to opportunities. Here’s some things we’ve stopped: 🛑 Partnerships that no longer serve us. 🛑 Comparing where we are now to where we are”should” be 🛑 Wishing things that did happen hadn’t. It did happen and now we look at how are we moving forward. 🛑 Allowing things out of our control to impact us. Comment below, what are you stopping this year?

It is easy to focus on the negatives and self-doubt. Am I giving it my all? Am I doing the right thing? Am I doing what I can to support those around me? Am I overwhelmed? Why can't I just be whelmed?? But today, I am going to focus on my team and how resilient, creative, patient, and dedicated they are. Anyone in long-term care knows that acquisitions are, simply put, tough. Changing policies, reprogramming your mind, being a cheerleader for the team, revamping culture, forgetting left from right and right from left, and countless other thoughts, feelings, and systems come your way. The past six months with Arrow Senior Living have taught me much about myself, but it is my team at Town and Country Senior Living that has made all the difference. They took on the challenge of change and ran with it. In six months, we have done so much for our team, residents, and families that would take more than long-winded social media post to cover. I can focus on the if's, how's, and what about's, but there is something better to put my focus on. I will focus on how every day this team is able to leave knowing we did our best, we accomplished all of this, and we will achieve even more tomorrow. I cannot thank or celebrate them enough for all they do, yet alone see what we do in the next six months. Happy six months Town and Country Senior Living!

This vision drives us to consistently exceed expectations, ensuring that every interaction not only meets but surpasses the usual standards of care. How does the concept of preeminence influence your approach to your work or daily life?
