🚀 Project: Free Energy Steam Engine | CEMP 2022 (Basic Science Project Expo) Date: May 31, 2022 During my first year, I participated in the CEMP 2022 (Basic Science Project Expo), where I designed a free energy steam engine(Demo) that demonstrated the conversion of thermal energy into electrical energy. The project involved heating a boiling vessel filled with water using two candles. After 10 minutes of heating, the generated steam was transferred through a valve to a piston, which in turn caused a disk 💿 to rotate. The rotational energy from the disk 💿 was stored in a DC motor , which then converted the steam energy into electrical energy, ultimately powering an LED light 💡 . Although my major is in Computer Science, this project highlights my ability to work on interdisciplinary projects and apply engineering principles beyond my core field 👍 . It showcases my versatility and hands-on skills across various scientific and engineering disciplines ✨ .

By submitting your answer to the below brainteaser, you have the potential to receive a 50% discount code for any IDC Technologies’ (EIT's sister company) video course! 💪✨ Your Challenge : 💡 You are tasked with managing a complex project involving four critical safety tasks, each with specific dependencies. Here’s what you need to solve: - Task X involves implementing a new safety system but cannot be initiated until Task Y and Task Z have been completed. - Task Y requires that Task W is finished first. - Task Z can be started at any time but must be completed before Task X can be finished. - Task W can be started at any point, but it must be completed before Task Y is started and before Task Z is finished. Within the Department of Mechanical Engineering, researchers from the Dynamics & Control (D&C) TU/e group aim to understand and predict the dynamics of complex engineering systems in order to develop advanced control, estimation, planning and learning strategies for the intelligent autonomous systems of the future. The underlying scientific research is not only agnostic to specific application fields – allowing for applications in everything from energy and health to mobility and high-tech systems – but also highly multidisciplinary. Idoia Cortes Garcia and Nathan van de Wouw take a look at how collaboration with industry and other researchers helps push their field forward, as well as the role that the TU/e High Tech Systems Center (HTSC) plays in this. https://lnkd.in/esW9ZtdV #hightechsystem #engineeringsystem

Hello, I am happy to share my new paper, which was recently published in the Energy Systems (Springer). Title: Optimal probabilistic design of multi-band power system stabilizers using the two-point estimate method Author: Wesley Peres This paper introduces an optimization approach for the probabilistic design of multi-band power system stabilizers, considering demand uncertainties. The primary objective is to minimize the sum of central gains for each multi-band structure. The approach incorporates inequality constraints to manage parameter bounds and to ensure the probabilities of achieving security (based on the minimum damping ratio) and stability (based on the spectral abscissa). To address this complex problem, particle swarm optimization is proposed in conjunction with the two-point estimate method (2PEM) for probabilistic small-signal analysis. 🔸 Thesis "Vulnerability Assessment of Modern Power Systems: Voltage Stability and System Strength Perspectives" 🔸 🌱 Climate change is one of the most dangerous and simultaneously most complex threats humanity has ever faced. The key response to this threat has been an unprecedented strategic shift in the energy sector, known as the energy transition.⚡️ 👨🏼🎓 On tuesday April 30th, Aleksandar Boričić (TenneT) defended his doctoral thesis "Vulnerability Assessment of Modern Power Systems: Voltage Stability and System Strength Perspectives" at TU Delft. Supervisors were Marjan Popov and Mart van der Meijden.
