ALG were legal advisor to SSE Renewables on their recent acquisition of the project development rights for a 120MW grid-scale battery energy storage system project in Ireland. As Ireland progresses towards its ambitious #RenewableEnergy targets the role of battery energy is expected to play an increasingly important role as we integrate more intermittent renewable energy on the system, where grid stability and reliability will be critical. GreenYellow Secures €13M Financing for #26MW Solar Acquisitions in France French renewable energy company GreenYellow has successfully secured EUR 13 million (USD 14 million) in mezzanine financing to fund the acquisition of 26 MWp in #solarenergy projects across mainland France and select overseas territories. The funding, provided by Zencap Asset Management, the private debt arm of Ofi Invest Group, will support GreenYellow’s commitment to expanding #solarpower capacity in the French market. This financing covers three separate acquisitions of photovoltaic (#PV) portfolios, a process that began at the close of 2023 and continued into early 2024. Our team in the Netherlands led by Liesbeth Buiter has advised longstanding client Blue Elephant Energy GmbH (BEE) on the acquisition of a solar PV portfolio in the Netherlands from Dutch developer TPSolar Nederland B.V.. This acquisition adds three solar PV parks with a combined capacity of approximately 88 MWp to BEE’s portfolio, consisting of projects at varying stages of development and operation across the Netherlands. Once fully commissioned, the three solar parks will make a significant contribution to achieving the Netherlands' ambitious climate targets by 2035, with an expected annual saving of 48,830 tonnes of CO₂ emissions and 38,493 m³ of water. Greencells Group has acquired a portfolio of late-stage #solar #PV projects with a total capacity of 127 MWp in #Germany from Stark Energie, an international developer of utility-scale solar projects. The portfolio, consisting of three projects, will be developed by Stark Energie, to the ready-to-build (RTB) stage. This acquisition marks a significant milestone for both companies, further strengthening their positions in the German PV market. Capcora acted as exclusive M&A advisor to Stark Energie.
