They say, "Wherever you go, there YOU are." Nothing changes until you change your mindset. I remember being headhunted for a position at Citi Group (my third stint with the bank). I was so proud to share the good news that my business card would say Assistant Vice President. It was one of the most challenging positions that I have held in my 30 years in banking. It was a great opportunity and I learned a lot. My key learnings were: ✅ Assume positive intent but explore actual intent. ✅ We always make ourselves the hero of our story. ✅ No matter how much you are being paid, you are exchanging time for money. As I approached 50, my view of titles, jobs, and myself changed. I now realize that we were all made for a purpose and until we find that thing... we are never truly happy. Do you think that you have found your purpose? If so, how old were you when you realized what you were created to do? Thank you Janine Cummings for sharing this post. I love that you surround yourself with such positive people. #MindsetChange #CareerGrowth #LifeLessons #BankingCareer #PurposeDrivenLife #SelfReflection #JobSatisfaction #WorkLifeBalance #PersonalDevelopment #Leadership

I remember when I finally got the Director title I felt I was fighting for. And nothing changed. I thought my ideas would finally be listened to and valued. I would have that seat at the table. But to my surprise, nothing happened. Why? Because it wasn't the title that needed to change. It was the company. The environment. Instead of going after a title, I should have focused on finding a company that wasn't just going to give it to me for show. I should have known that how I was being treated wouldn't change. And I should have focused on the right thing...valuing myself enough to leave. Don't be me. Get the title with a company that cares about your growth. Your development. And gives you all the responsibility, opportunity, and possibility to match. Always know your value...and know that there is a company out there that will see what you see...your greatness. 🔄Someone in your network is dealing with a toxic workplace and needs to hear this message.
