In the hustle of daily life, it's easy to overlook a crucial aspect – the mental well-being of our children. Just like physical health, their mental health deserves our attention and support. Children encounter a myriad of stressors and challenges, from academic pressures to social dynamics and family transitions. It's crucial to provide them with the tools and resources to navigate these challenges effectively. That's why initiatives like our Spring Break Day Camp play a pivotal role. Beyond offering a fun and engaging environment for kids during their break, our camp also incorporates valuable mental health lessons. Through carefully crafted activities and discussions, children learn essential coping techniques, positive social interactions, and the importance of nurturing their self-esteem. These lessons lay a strong foundation for their future mental and emotional well-being. So, as we navigate through another spring break season, let's remember the significance of prioritizing our children's mental health. Consider enrolling your child in our Spring Break Day Camp to keep their minds active, engaged, and equipped with valuable life skills. Sign up link in bio! Together, let's ensure our children grow into resilient, confident individuals ready to face whatever life throws their way.

🌟✨ This Mental Health Awareness Week, I wanted to share a personal reflection as a parent of two amazing girls. As a mother, I'm constantly navigating the ups and downs of parenthood, and this week is particularly poignant as my daughter is sitting her SATs exams. 📚 It's a reminder of just how much pressure our children can face at such a young age, and how important it is to prioritise their mental well-being alongside their academic achievements. As parents, we play a crucial role in supporting our children through these challenging times, ensuring they know that their mental health is just as important as their grades. I believe that open conversations about mental health and emotional well-being should start at home. By creating a safe space for our children to express their feelings and concerns, we can help them develop resilience and coping strategies that will serve them well throughout their lives. In honour of Mental Health Awareness Week, let's pledge to be more mindful of the pressures our children face and to prioritise their mental well-being above all else. Together, we can create a supportive environment where our children can thrive academically, emotionally, and mentally. 💕 #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek #Parenting #SATs #SupportingOurChildren

When we talk about mental health, we often think about adults, but every day children and young people across the UK struggle with their mental health too 💚 This week is #childrensmentalhealthweek (5th-11th February) and the theme this year is ‘My Voice Matters'🧒💬 The 'My Voice Matters' campaign is all about empowering children and young people by providing them with the tools they need to express themselves. "When we feel empowered, there’s a positive impact on our wellbeing. Children who feel that their voices are heard and can make a difference, have a greater sense of community and self-esteem." 🗣 Place2Be launched the first-ever Children's Mental Health Week in 2015 "to empower, equip and give a voice to every child across the UK." Their approach is to "intervene early to prevent life-long mental health issues" which they do by... ⭐ Providing early support - spotting mental health problems before they develop and helping children and young people cope with challenges throughout their lives, ⭐ Using an effective therapeutic approach - backed by research that combines several ways of working, ⭐ Offering a range of mental health support services - including advice and support for families and school staff, to build resilience and raise awareness of mental health across a whole school community. Place2Be was founded in 1994 by Dame Benny Refson DBE after being inspired by a Family Service Unit (FSU) project in Southwark called The Place to Be which had placed a counsellor in a primary school. "...I knew that we needed to reach children's problems sooner rather than later so their problems don't grow with them." On National Children’s Mental Health Awareness Day, let's remember the powerful role that reading plays in promoting mental wellness among our youth. Books have the incredible ability to transport children to new worlds, spark their imagination, and help them navigate complex emotions. Let's prioritize literacy as a tool for nurturing healthy minds and supporting children's mental health journey. 📚💖 Today's the last day to buy 'The Princess Has to Pee!' and get the second book 'Tousled' for half off with code "mothersday" #ChildrensMentalHealth #ReadingMatters #ChildrensMentalHealthAwarenessDay

Love listening to my colleagues at The Jed Foundation (JED) share our work on such an important topic: Beyond Stigma: Mental Health Help-Seeking Behaviors in Teens. Thank you Morgan Stanley Alliance for Children's Mental Health for your partnership in this work! Looking forward to learning from about Kamla Modi, Ph.D., Michelle G. Mullen, PhD, and John MacPhee about important findings from JED's new research, including top concerns holding teens back from asking for help, where teens turn for support and what they really want when reaching out for help, and how parents and other adults can better enable teens to talk about their mental health.
