Over the past 45 years of playing organized soccer, I've noticed a few things about what separates the successful teams from the unsuccessful ones. What can we learn from the truly successful teams, that we can incorporate into our work teams, our families, and our communities? https://lnkd.in/grkRPrBx #teams #teamwork

A modern day story about how tribes are built. Andy Hill and I were brought together becuase of work but became fast friends. We now share parenting and fitness journeys, dolphins agony, and a genuine care for each other. Jonathan Ahrens, CPA, CIA went to high school with Andy, and found me because Andy and I hosted a show together for a while. Now Jonathan is in our fantasy football league, a member of our professional development community, and is a must see whenever our locations sync. Jake Nudelberg is my brother, works with me, plays tennis and trains with Andy weekly, helps Jonathan grow through our On the Ball community, and keeps our fantasy football league spicy. Our values of work ethic, competition, and authenticity, are what tie us together, but we come from very different places with very different stories. Tribes look different than they used to, but their fabric remains the same. The core values that are known, lived, and we hold each other accountable to are what have made tribes work since the dawn of people. What holds your tribe together? What are you looking for in a tribe? #ontheball #getontheball #traininganddevelopment #personaldevelopment #profesionaldevelopment

4-1 Win 3-0 Win 7-1 Win We’ve sponsored a local football club. Whistle FC is so far top of the league and the plan is for us to stay that way. It’s super important to involve ourselves in grassroots causes. Not only because it creates viral posts (fingers crossed) but it helps us to source hard to reach talent, which is our life blood. There are a lot of crossovers between being a succesful sports team and running a successful business, with three being: 1. Teamwork and collaboration 2. Training and preparation 3. Goal setting and performance management Lastly, it’s just a cool thing to do and having fun in business is underrated. ✌️⚽️🥅

Mental Performance Coach for players in the NBA, NCAA, LKL, French Pro A, Pro B and some of the best prospects in Europe. Host of the Mind Game of Basketball podcast. Author of the Mental guide « 1 on 1 with yourself »
Basketball is a beautiful game, full of surprises, and that’s why we love this game so much. Now, as much as I appreciate those moments myself as a basketball lover, does it mean we have to settle on what’s being done, or can we give ourselves a chance to keep getting better? Because that’s what it is about: chance or luck, whatever you want to call it. But if you want luck to fall on your side, you can’t expect for miracles to happen often. You have to put your team in the best conditions possible, by making the right play, so that you have a higher percentage of success. Obviously Papagiannis’ long 3 that ties the game to go in OT is one of a kind, but before that highlight that owns the social media this Saturday night, isn’t there room for us to help our players make smarter decisions beforehand? - why would Yan Madar send a tricky pass in the paint with 9 seconds left in the possession, being down 1? In the best case scenario you score a 2 and get a 1 point lead, but give the other team the last possession to take control of the outcome… In this situation, it’s even worse because he turned the ball over on that pass. Talking about luck… - why would you go score a lay up on a fast break with 2 seconds left to be up 3, instead of running the clock around the court and eventually throwing the ball up high in the air for the last seconds of the game? Of course, one can say that it is unlucky, and it clearly is when you lose 105-110 after OT because of this, but once again, when you put all the chances on your side, luck will come your way more often. Both teams could and should have managed the last possessions better. Are they mentally prepared to do so? #themindgameofbasketball #wildending #outofcontrol #playersdevelopment #roomforimprovement #mentalperformance #emotionalcontrol #nocriticsjustfacts #noexcusesneeded #makeluckcomegourway #basketballIQ

The 2024/25 Premier League season is officially underway, and what better way to celebrate than at Old Trafford last Friday? But let’s be honest – it wasn’t just about football. It was also about catching up with friends and business partners, proving once again that good things happen when you mix work with play. There’s something about the start of a new football season. Fresh tactics, new faces, and a whole lot of optimism (and maybe a bit of nerves). Sound familiar? Whether you’re aiming for the top of the league or leading your industry, it all comes down to strategy and execution. But here’s the key takeaway: success in both football and business, often hinges on teamwork, adaptability, and yes, a little bit of luck. And let’s be honest – building relationships over a match beats a boardroom any day! ⚽️ #PremierLeague #Teamwork #Networking

As we continuously aim to elevate the world of women’s soccer, a question has been on my mind, and I would love to gather your insights. 👀 Does the performance department in your women’s soccer club tailor its structure and strategies specifically for women players? Or, does it mirror the structure and strategies from the men’s side of the club, possibly even adopting practices brought over by those who have primarily worked in men’s soccer? Understanding the intricacies of performance support that respects physiological and psychological differences can profoundly impact player development and team success. 💬 I invite you to join this conversation—share your experiences, observations, and suggestions. How is your club addressing these challenges? What changes would you advocate for? I’m looking forward to your thoughts! #WomenInSports #Soccer #PerformanceDevelopment #AthleteSupport #InclusiveSporting #WomensSoccer Visit us at: https://lnkd.in/gbjVeVF5
