October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a cause that's especially important to our team and founder Marina Sinnott Showalter. In honor of her Aunt Joyce, we will be donating 5% of all new projects in October to The Pink Fund. If you're considering a holiday campaign, October's the perfect time to get started and give back. 💕
Here are some additional holidays and events to recognize this October. Want to outsource your content calendar? Aiming to acknowledge and celebrate these dates respectfully? Reach out for a custom strategy!

I think the entire #linkedincommunity is at its best when focused on supporting others in the pursuit of goals. Do you agree?
Gregory Bebbington, a dear friend and recent guest on #comfychairspodcast, has a BIG goal this year:
✨ Complete #pelotonia for the tenth year in a row—AND raise $10k to honor his late wife, Melissa. ✨
Let’s break it down:
🚴♂️10 endurance races is a big deal. (IYKYK)
💰Fundraising for a charity is a big endeavor. (#teamintraining alum here and I can vouch for it).
💞Sharing your why can be a big challenge. (We’ve all been there.)
This is a chance to show up in big ways to support a great cause! Obviously, donations will go a long way, but there are so many ways to support a goal like this:
➡️ Amplify the cause—whether it’s Greg’s participation or someone in your own life.
➡️ Consider participating yourself.
➡️ Send your thoughts and prayers to everyone training for the race. (This is the right use for those!)
➡️ Take charge of your own health and get educated on cancer screening.
Whatever way you can support, I know it will have a big impact!
Apologies for the personal post, but I'm sure I can be forgiven for this one. Some may know and many do no not that 10 years ago, I lost my amazing wife Melissa to Cancer. Every year since I have participated in the Pelotonia Bike Ride to raise money for THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY WEXNER MEDICAL CENTER, COMPREHENSIVE CANCER. This year being my 10th year riding I have committed to raising $5k as a "High Roller", but it would be wonderful to make that $10k for the 10th year. Please consider donating what you can. And also as it is the first day of Colon Cancer Awareness Month, please get yourself check out!

Watch my full TEDx talk on YouTube titled, "Seeing Life from a Different Lens" where I talk about the three steps I took to overcome the emotional trauma of surviving a rare childhood eye cancer called retinoblastoma and how you too can see the world through a different lens with love, empathy and compassion.
My Call to Action for you: Before you donate money to childhood cancer, donate your time with other survivors. I have witnessed first hand what happens when we let connections unite us and what happens when we let our differences divide us. The former is the world I want to live in.

It's #TimeToEndBreastCancer.
Shades of Pink Foundation #SOPF was founded in 2005 as a result of a conversation among a breast cancer surgeon, a friend, and a patient. The combination of treatment-related costs and daily living expenses were causing tremendous financial stress for the patient and her family. The physical and emotional toll of breast cancer is well known. The financial impact of the diagnosis is not. The patient feared losing her home because of the financial burden. That conversation resulted in a plan that created Shades of Pink Foundation. Learn more at ShadesOfPinkFoundation.org.
