In the past few weeks, I had an opportunity to interact with some good people on LinkedIn. Key takeaways:- 1. No dearth of talent 2. The one who has experience needs little to no preparation for interview 3. Right talent and his/her market value will eventually find each other. 4. Some people are reluctant to move out of their comfort zone (city/ hometown) which is absolutely perfect.

True story – your company is not the talent magnet you think it is. 🆘 Want to know what really attracts top talent and how to get that information out from your current team? Let's break it down: 💡 Deep dive interviews: Don't assume – ask. Then listen. What enlightening truths can we uncover by having heart-to-hearts with those in the trenches? 💡 Get interested in the selfish expectations: embrace the ‘me’ factor. What personal dreams and ambitions are talents hoping to fulfill through their jobs? Don't make it about your company's aspirations. 💡 Aspirational alignment: It’s not about you, it's about them. How does your company help employees reach their professional and personal development? 💡 Life-enhancing work: Beyond the paycheck, how does being part of your hive enrich your employees' lives? #EmployerBranding #EmployeeValueProposition

Inspiring people to live joyfully in the moment. Ongoing drug trial lung cancer patient, solution thinker, and grateful gritty soul. Life is too short to waste time with chasing things you don’t need.
How to connect with 5k LinkedIn people? Maybe find a hidden job from just sharing your work skills and expertise in your field It’s this quick tip - Simply like and comment every day Taking about 15-20 minutes each day Just…. 1) Comment at least ten to 15 words in a real sentence or two to enhance the author of the post’s point. *** If you really disagree with the author, not the topic of the post, skip the comment and move along. Keep to the topic, ie = value. 2) Try to always create respectful comments that encourage conversations with others commenting on the post- as if you are friends sitting over a cup of coffee or tea 3) Engage in sharing additional useful information and insightful knowledge about the topic of the post to add value to the discussion of the post topic I know this works because I went from 23 connections to 10k in under 6 months by only commenting on posts of people in my industry, field, and top businesses I wanted to work with in my career. Hundreds of individuals gave me constructive feedback, advice, and leads for my job hunt over those months. I had dozens of conversations with recruiters and hiring managers each month over various opportunities. And I started a freelance consulting business that kept me busy for almost 10 years. All from focusing on creating conversations, building up discussions with sharing valuable information, and respecting the author’s topic of their posts. Along the way, another 10k global people from various backgrounds and business industries aconnected with me too. Amazing what you can achieve with just a few thoughtful comments and a engaging conversation with others on posts. Come join me and share your experience 👇

Another week has gone by and I am here with some more Kernels of #CobbInsights from the other side of the interview table. 1) 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐧𝐨 𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐭𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐲. It’s never too late to rekindle past connections and relationships. I had an amazing networking opportunity with a connection this week that I hadn’t spoken to in probably 7-8 years. This person took it upon themselves to extend an invite to join their team for dinner and drinks, and that few hours of interaction made it seem like not a day had gone by since we last connected, and I not only strengthened the relationship that I had, but made a bunch of great new connections as well. 2) 𝐏𝐚𝐲 𝐢𝐭 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝. Small instances like I mentioned above keep happening. People that owe me nothing keep coming out of the woodwork with offers to help and provide advice. Another great contact this week set up an hour to simply walk me through some of their ideas and insights on types of companies to target, and sharing tips and tricks that have helped them recently in both their current job and past job searches. Think about how you can help people in your network even if there is nothing you’ll get in return. 3) 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝𝐬 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐝𝐞. I have focused my energy so far on reconnecting with my professional network, but twice in the past week fantastic leads on opportunities, both for myself and ones that I could pass on to people in my network, came through the small overlap in the concentric circles that are my personal and professional lives. Embrace that overlap and think about who may be able to help you even if they aren’t people you would typically think about from your profession. 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐭'𝐬 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐤! 𝖴𝗇𝗍𝗂𝗅 𝗇𝖾𝗑𝗍 𝗍𝗂𝗆𝖾. 𝖠𝗇𝖽 𝖺𝗌 𝖺𝗅𝗐𝖺𝗒𝗌 – 𝗂𝖿 𝗍𝗁𝖾𝗋𝖾 𝗂𝗌 𝖺𝗇𝗒𝗈𝗇𝖾 𝖨 𝖼𝖺𝗇 𝗁𝖾𝗅𝗉, 𝗉𝗅𝖾𝖺𝗌𝖾 𝗋𝖾𝖺𝖼𝗁 𝗈𝗎𝗍 𝗁𝖾𝗋𝖾.
