I am excited to share an important milestone in my journey—I graduated with a Master of Business and Science (MBS) in May 2023 and, more recently, embarked on a fulfilling role at a Fortune 500 biotech company. 👩🎓 🎊 Here are 3 strategies that I'd like to highlight that played a crucial role in opening doors for me in the life-sciences industry: 👩🔬 Leveraging business and technical skills: Most people underestimate the business knowledge/acumen needed to relate to the commercialization of drugs and the implications of the regulatory landscape. The unique combination of courses and guidance offered by the professors and alumni at Keck Graduate Institute helped me build a strong foundation in understanding biotech enterprises, and bolster on my technical background in biotech engineering. 🤼 Networking with early career professionals and senior leaders: I wouldn't state the obvious - we know networking is important, but what we might miss is the art of networking strategically. Initiating conversations for coffee chats and informational interviews is an excellent starting point. What takes it a step further is considering what you can bring to the table in return. Meaningful connections are built on reciprocity. 🤝 Attending conferences and professional development workshops: As a student, I attended 5+ international biotech conferences and participated in numerous events hosted by Nucleate, Women In Bio - Engage. Educate. Empower., PDA - Parenteral Drug Association, Biotech Connection Los Angeles (BCLA), Global Biotech Revolution, SynBioBeta, Harvard University, California 100 Initiative and more. Worst case, I made friends smarter than me, and got a chance to be educated on things that I had little to no knowledge about. While there's more to my story, I'd like to emphasize that if you're a student or recent graduate aspiring to kickstart your career, these three strategies, when executed thoughtfully, can help you build a robust network and bring you closer to your dream job. I'm eager to hear about your experiences and the tactics that have advanced your career. What strategies have proven successful for you? Let's continue the conversation and learn from each other's journeys. #careeradvancement #networking #biotechindustry #lifesciencejobs #graduatecareers #womeninbusiness

As I attend the final day at SynBioBeta 2023, I’d like to give a huge shout out to the organisers for the wonderful line up of speakers. The past three days, I had the opportunity to interact with leaders in the synthetic biology field, or semi-natural biology as Paul Stamets would call it. Be it learning more about astrobiology with Kate Rubins, understanding the role of public markets in bio-innovation and application of synbio in drug discovery, trying out Mycelium Bacon and synbio tomatoes or attending the Genetic Underground rave, it has been an enriching experience, to say the least. Thank you, Ivan R. Jaubert and Alfred Brown for coordinating the student grant. If you’re around in Oakland, CA and would like to catch up, don’t hesitate to reach out :)

I hate goodbyes, but there are always opportunities to convert them into a 'see you soon'! It's been a week since I completed the Operations and Strategy Leadership Internship Program at Amgen. Looking back upon my experiences, I realized that I learned tremendously, be it through the guidance offered by my manager Inna Ben-Anat, my buddies Henry Fisk and Chang (Daisy) Shu, career discussions with Arleen Paulino, Margaret Faul, Som Chattopadhyay, P.E., Nkem Ogbechie, Emily Razaqi, Uel Leite, Cleat Jerden, and Chris Kudlacek, or the insightful conversations with Marc Doble, Majed Kheir, Dan Fish, and Samantha Fairbairn! As the saying goes, "our fingerprints don't fade from the lives we touch." Thank you Jason Olbrich, Guy Schwartz, Sal Chiappetta, Darren Chambers, Eric Dolak, Eric Benjamins, Xi W., Larissa Paschyn, Lucie Gagnières, Kenneth Shropshire, Eileen Engelberg, Stephanie Lee, Samantha P., Christopher Urban, Ben Van Zytveld and others, for taming my curiosity. A huge shout out to Shaun Kelleher, Victoria G., Regina M., Catherine Bond, Lisa Zautke, Monica Zimmerman, MBA, BSEng, GMST Team, and anyone else whose brain I may I have picked for 'Bending Cost of Sales' workstreams. Last but not the least, here's to a super-collaborative intern cohort: Tiffany Li, Martin Keyt, Chayanin Hankansujarit, and Anjali V.! (Apologies I could add only as many names, please know if I interacted with you this summer, I appreciate your insights)

Dear friends, Heartfelt gratitude to everyone who supported me in the campaign, and made Harvard Project for Asian and International Relations (HPAIR) possible for me. Having successfully attended the 5-day conference in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from 16th-20th August 2018, I am all the more determined to address pressing issues on personal as well as broader scales. More than everything, I'd like to congratulate all the contributors in taking a big step in their lives, in believing that every small effort counts, and adding onto the sea of hope in human lives. Humanity is nothing without integrating components of selfless interaction, unconditional love and support. For those of you who believed in me, restored faith in my abilities during the tougher days, you guys are all my precious gems, thank you is not enough a word for it. Rest assured, your investments in my ideologies and perspectives shall continue to foster a rapid chain of events that address sustainable modes of lifestyle extending onto raising true meaning of happiness in real lives. Dear all, With the support and guidance of all of you, my fund-raising campaign for Harvard Project for Asian and International Relations has already raised INR 33,000. Having been selected for Energy and Environment Sustainability track, my campaign promotes the outreach and general awareness for developing basic habits on environment conservation. While the money would be used for my representation at the conference, the genuine motive is to promote young enthusiasts of the country to make a difference, with special emphasis on environment hazards. If you support the idea and the campaign, I request you to donate for the cause. Both online and offline donations are acceptable, and the link for the former is hereby mentioned. I'm open for any prospective collaborations pertaining to the donations or the conference or even the theme of environment conservation. Really looking forward to hearing from you! Amount, as small as INR 300 has my gratitude. Thank you for sparing out time, and giving this a read! In order to read a detail account of my stance on the theme, check out the story covered by Indian Express on their web portal. Hey there! This is a link to my fundraising campaign to attend a conference in the month of August. It is a 5-day conference in the name of Harvard Project for Asian and International Relations (HPAIR). I have been selected for the same and I'm looking forward to seek any prospective fundraising means to attend the same. How can you help me? With as less as INR 200, you can be a part of the journey to promote environmental concerns on a global level and make the world a better place to live in. You can also help me connect with people who might be willing to fund the campaign. You can reach out to me by dropping a personal message here or to anukshaarsh@gmail.com. Help, in every form is appreciated. Thank you :') https://lnkd.in/f38qvZ7 #Donate #Environment #Harvard #Conference #HPAIR #HarvardProject #Malaysia #Sustainability #Energy #SustainabilityDisruption #Cause #Help #Impact #Health #Life
