This is essential for everything from simple industrial automation to complex robotic arms performing intricate tasks. 𝐍𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐠𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 AI helps robots navigate autonomously in dynamic environments using techniques like Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) and path-planning algorithms. Applications include self-driving cars, drones, and mobile robots in warehouses. 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐩𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 AI enables robots to manipulate objects, handle various materials, and perform delicate operations through advanced motor control and tactile sensing. This has wide applications in areas such as assembly lines and healthcare. #AI dumbed down. There is a very fine line between AI and #Automation. When I listen to business leaders discuss AI, it's almost as though they believe and therefore perpetuate, this aura around AI, that it is a sentient being. This points to what evangelists call technological singularity - where technology is sentient and growth is uncontrollable. The latter part is true - growth is for many unrequited. AI doing art and music, but not doing the dishes and laundry? But viewed with a bit of logic, AI at its core is still a sequence of programs that follow a defined path - a logic layer and decision tree. These are defined by humans, not by AI. The best example of real-world AI is #selfdriving vehicles (autonomous/ driverless; including cars, trains, delivery carts, drones and UAVs). However, this AI isn't as smart as what we've been told. Countless hours of sensor data, imaging, proximity detections, satellite positioning, all bound together to create a set of logic layers and decision trees - by humans. Schemes such as mechanical turks that pay cents per task for humans to help train AI. So when your semi-smart car applies the brakes when you get too close to a car in front, it is using all this sensory information and programming to brake. Certainly more efficient than a human! I'll dive into examples of AI in business this week, how it can affect revenue and or profitability and impact #ESG goals.
