Open Innovation & Governance: We've got a wedding to put on here, people. Last month in Paris we asked the heads of innovation of the world's top 100 what keeps them up at night. A large group of answers refer to governance, organization and processes. We grouped them below (anonymous, obviously. all the answers in Mind the Bridge Open Innovation Outlook 2024, link for download in the comments). Among the hottest topics: - engage the BUs - relate to the mothership (for CVC units) - coordinate open innovation activities and units What does keep you up at night? #openinnovation #CVC #organization Serena Orizi Max Brigonzi Mattia Poletti Giorgio Di Fiore Serena Valente Alessia Pisoni Julian Kassum International Chamber of Commerce
Absolutely interesting topic Alberto Onetti . It would be useful to see the correlation between these answers and where the innovation unit is positioned within the org structure, and to whom the head of innovation reports to, and also if the company is a conglomerate, a multinational with country/regions almost independent, or more BU cross country etc.. Anyway I fully agree with your post. As I usaully say: innovation without governance is just creative chaos, interesting as an activity, but not sustainable at all in the long run
