Tomorrow is the 4th of July! At our long-term care facilities, we will take any excuse to celebrate with our staff and residents, especially in these warmer months. Here are some fun ideas nursing homes can use to enjoy this holiday: 1.Host a firework screening! Find some of the BEST firework videos on YouTube and put on a show for your residents! (here’s one of our favorites: https://lnkd.in/erU3qAwr) 2.Host a cook-out. If you can’t grill at your facility, consider cooking up some hot-dogs and a fruit salad in the kitchen so staff and residents can enjoy the feel-good aspect that comes with this holiday. 3.Take a moment to address and thank the veterans at your facility, this holiday can serve as a reminder of our gratitude toward their service. Consider creating thank you cards for those that served. Remember that living in a nursing home can be fun and joyous for everyone!
