Despite what you might have heard, Instagram is still the second most used social media platform in the UK and 39% of UK adults are logging in DAILY 🗓️ according to research from Push Group. 📸 My main do’s and dont’s for IG content are: ✅ DO show people in your content! It’s nice to see faces 😊 and it tends to perform better - people like to see people! ✅ DO add multiple images to your posts where possible. Carousel posts are known to outperform single image ones - we just loveee to swipe ➡️💕 ❌ DON’T always just re-share your new posts on stories. Instead use the Questions, Quiz or Poll features to make it interactive! One of my most popular client stories of 2023 was a quiz asking how many of their products people could spot in their new post! 🔎 ❌ DON’T put all the important information in the caption - Instagram is a visual platform! Try a carousel post with text (like the one below👇), or why not create a short Reel? 👩🏽💻 ❌ DON’T use stock images where possible - they make your content less personal! I read that many people are complaining about Reddit taking down their product launch posts. ProductHunt is a great example of what will happen to the platform if you DON'T take such actions. There are multiple ways of getting upvotes, but they all have one thing in common: you need to reach out to accounts with high karma in advance and ask for support for your future launch. Usually, it's better to offer something in exchange. On our launch day a couple of months ago, I received multiple messages like, "Hey, I just upvoted your product and asked our team to do the same. We hope that you will support us when we launch." No wonder these products became Products of the Day in a couple of months. So, the earlier you start doing outreach to other products on their launch day, the higher your chances of success. The email below is another example of what people do. I get people want a good launch, but this is sooooo wrong. I'm sure the PH team knows about this issue, but it's sad they don't seem to do much about it. Getting a Product of the Day was once very prestigious. I wonder how many people trust ProductHunt anymore.

People are asking themselves if Instagram is on the way out but I agree with Pretty Little Marketer that in my opinion, it isn't. Instagram is here to stay. However, the old Instagram strategies of the past are out. To succeed on the platform, you need to focus on quality, not quantity. Love these tips for success! 😎 Banging Visuals - it's not just about cool graphics anymore. Do more. 🔍 Prompt Curiosity - curiosity leads to engagement (yeeess!) ⏰ User Focus - pick your audience and speak to that. The 8020 rule applies, 20% of your audience will provide 80% of the value to you. 🎉 Realistic Goals - going viral is not a realistic goal. We can do better. 😍 Be a Familiar Face - familiarity means you have fostered a community around your page and isn't that what social media is about?

Now that it is a little bit less than a month away; I am SUPER excited to share with all of you LinkedIn friends that I will be a panel speaker at the Community-Led Alliance Summit in Boston on April 11th and 12th! I'll be chatting on a panel regarding all things community feedback! To give you a little sneak peek, here are just a few of my thoughts on harnessing the power of a brand-moderated subreddit community: In my experience, Reddit can be a tool to get one-on-one feedback from customers who care about your product the most. At Loop Earplugs, I was able to scale our Reddit community from practically zero to over 6,000 active Loopers in less than a year, averaging 100,000 organic impressions monthly with no paid push. These impressions are more valuable than other social impressions, as they help consumers see real-life people talk about your product just because they love it. Our Reddit community is a THRIVING place where new and old Loopers can come together. Creating a space where your audience can communicate comfortably AND where you are able to harness those insights is priceless. I'll be sharing some tips and tricks I've learned along the way.
