Bioluminescence 18 x 24 in, Oil on Panel, 2016 The light of life and the natural world. In all the vastness of space, as of yet, we know of only one planet that supports life. At least within some great distance from here, life is rare. Each organism being the exquisite and detailed product of billions of years of evolution, life is precious. This point of light and inspiration stands in contrast to the lanterns and lights that are historically thought to be sources of illumination but are now dimmed; mythologies and superstitions humans have created as we struggled in the dark of ignorance to understand our world. But the process of science has revealed a luminous, living planet, more amazing than we could have ever imagined, where the intricacies of biology are miracles of evolution and our consciousness is a gift of natural processes that allow us to experience what it is to be alive. Sam Illingworth reads his poem Wobbling Stars and Super Earths. Poem 121. ✨🪐 Watch on ideaXme's YouTube Channel Now! Link in bio! https://lnkd.in/eEZVx8vr Watch to discover the latest science 🔬papers communicated via the medium of poetry! 🧠 🧐 This poem is inspired by recent research, which has used wobbling stars to find new exoplanets. The discovery of planets beyond our solar system, known as exoplanets, has greatly expanded our understanding of the universe. While earlier missions like Kepler have identified thousands of these distant worlds, determining their masses remains a significant challenge. Measuring a planet’s mass is crucial as it reveals much about its composition, atmosphere, and potential to support life. However, obtaining accurate mass measurements requires advanced techniques and sensitive instruments. One effective method is observing the ‘wobble’ of a star caused by the gravitational pull of an orbiting planet, which shifts the star’s light spectrum. This phenomenon, known as the radial velocity method, provides essential data for understanding these distant worlds. New data from the Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS) and the W.M. Keck Observatory, has been used to make significant strides in this area. This research, part of the TESS-Keck Survey (TKS), has produced the largest and most uniform mass catalogue of exoplanets to date. By analysing over 9,000 radial velocity measurements, the team determined the masses of 126 exoplanets and discovered 15 new ones. This comprehensive dataset allows scientists to estimate the densities and compositions of these planets, providing valuable insights into their nature. Notably, the study identified two particularly intriguing planets: TOI-1824 b, a superdense sub-Neptune, and TOI-1798 c, an extreme super-Earth, which is so close to its host star that it makes one orbit in less than 12 hours. These findings contribute to a deeper understanding of planetary diversity and evolution, highlighting the unique characteristics of our own solar system. #sciencepapers #sciencefacts #steam #stem #poetryandscience #poets #poems #innovation #innovations #arts #ideaXme #movethehumanstoryforward #artists #modernpoets #sciencecommunications #scicomms #ideaXmecreators #ideaXmecollaborations

Rejecting Death and Time Travel through Irreversible Transformation This paper explores the concept that nothing in this world ever truly ends. Everything operates according to its nature, and upon completing the cycle of its nature, it undergoes transformation. Nature, as defined here, consists of both repetitive and non-repetitive behaviors of any existing entity in the universe, persisting until it undergoes an ultimate, irreversible transformation. This perspective is examined through examples of stars, Earth, and human existence. The idea of escaping these cycles through concepts such as parallel universes or time machines is challenged, asserting that such possibilities would disrupt the cosmic cycle and lead to its collapse.

Kingdom of Stories ( Short Story Part 6) You may be wondering, dear reader, about the most intriguing fragment Orion ever found. Ah, the tale of Orion's most intriguing fragment is whispered among the ancient scrolls and hidden alcoves of the Kingdom of Stories. Gather close, dear reader, for I shall weave it for you: In the dimly lit chamber where Orion kept his collection, there lay a single page—a fragment torn from a celestial manuscript. Its edges shimmered like stardust, and upon it were inscribed symbols unknown to any mortal tongue. The ink glowed softly, as if infused with the light of distant galaxies. The fragment told of a forgotten constellation—a constellation that had slipped through the cosmic sieve, eluding the eyes of astronomers and star gazers. Its name was **"Lyridia"**, and its stars were said to be born from the tears of celestial beings. Each Lyridian star held a memory, a longing, or a secret—a story etched into the fabric of the universe. Orion studied the fragment, tracing the delicate lines with reverence. As he did, the symbols shifted, revealing glimpses of Lyridia's history. Lyridia was once home to a race of luminous weavers who spun threads of light into constellations. Their looms hummed with cosmic melodies, and their fingers danced across the celestial tapestry. But one weaver, named **Astraea**, yearned for more. She sought to weave a star that would bridge realms—a beacon for lost souls and dreamers. 🌌🎶✨ Don't forget to follow to stay updated with the next parts of the story. O human being, learn from your mother The earth is a submissive creature that has inherited kindness and generosity from its creator, but man instead of learning love and affection from his mother, went to animals and learned killing tools from them. An example is the Zionist regime, which is a disgrace to humanity. One of the blessings of the earth is its magnetic wings which it has spread in space to protect its delinquent children. Despite the age of the magnetic field, its origin remains a mystery. A remarkable thing that can be seen in the ST model is the alignment of the axis of the magnetic field with the axis of twist, the same as the solenoid. In a simple form, the torsion field is similar to the number 8 (forward segment tuned archly but retard segment tuned polygonal in the north hemisphere) which connects the poles of the earth. The curved and angular apexes on both sides of Aegean Se represent the Forward (F) and Retard (R) field respectively. According to the figure It seems North Magnetic Pole is projection of Ecliptic and Ant ecliptic (equator is a median plane) which oscillate between forward trail and retard trail of couple sigmoid. If the earth was a liquid, the two spin and magnetic axes would coincide, but due to the hardness of the lithosphere, it deviates from the spin axis by a certain amount during twisting (it seems to be the same as the eccentricity of the mother spiral). During the last 200 years, it seems that the magnetic pole has migrated from west to east. The reflection of two fields in and around the Aegean Sea requires a deep imagination of how the pair sigmoid interfere in each other. The pair of meridians are actually perpendicular bisectors of B and N. The offset between 3 and 4 is caused by the passing of F/R-fields in front of each other.

The amazing folks at the "Center for Humans and Nature" just published our "The Sturgeon's Dream", a libretto. Co-written with Isaac Yuen for the Åland Universe project of FrauvonDa, it focuses on the networks of life in the Baltic Sea and spans from deep time till the very near future. Here is an excerpt, the glacier solo. A GLACIER SOLO Who measures time when between freezing and thawing lies not one winter but the formations of multiple landscapes and the possibilities of a million lives never lived. Cracked mirror. In milky jade reflections the movements of clouds, stars, the moon. Howling over ruptured surfaces, an aching wind lifts up crystalized gushes, crackles, a drift of shimmering snow. Underneath the stillness of a thousand colors pressed into one. Water solidified, startled into how heavy and hushed one can get changing from one form to the other. How long might this last, it asks, as ever more of its molecular kin turn into a thickening plate dispersing light into iridescences evoking the ancient ones, the stones it covers— Granite, limestone, gneiss, basalt. Or just before sunset the shades of pink and purple haze. Once, the movements and currents of a sea, a world, now the lives they hold are frozen, quiet. Where and when did it happen first, that tipping point that sparked the change from liquid to solid? First, mutual distance and playful intimacy holding in constant movement, with always just enough space between one another, to change positions, shape the shapeless. Then, one molecule following another, arranging each other, in ever-neater lattice structures. Yet, from the one to the other, the process continued, took over, became and lasted. A towering sheet of ice that silences land and sea, a burden. Pressure on the subtle forms, sundering moss from stones, roots from soil, rocks from earth. A shudder again. At the southernmost edges a thermal revolution permeates this glacier with thundering vibrations. Agitated, water returns to that freedom of form, the liquid state trickles and drizzles. Percolations into thin streams, spurts and flows. While the ice melts the glaciers retract, the landscape sighs, rebounds. An unburdening gives way to fjords, flatlands, estuaries where soon lichen, bushes, shrubs, and grasses absorb the barren. https://lnkd.in/dQ7AtZ3i

In the tenth and final dimension, we arrive at the point where everything possible and imaginable is covered. Beyond this, nothing can be imagined by us lowly mortals, which makes it the natural limitation of what we can conceive in terms of dimensions. https://lnkd.in/gbUm4gDr
