This excerpt dives into the world of reading comprehension assessments, exploring three key types: diagnostic, formative, and summative. Each approach offers valuable insights for teachers, but with distinct characteristics: • Diagnostic Assessments: Delivered before instruction, these pinpoint specific skill gaps hindering student progress. Think of them as a roadmap, guiding teachers to tailor instruction based on individual needs. • Formative Assessments: The most informal type, these assessments happen "in the moment" during instruction. They're like ongoing check-ins, helping teachers identify and address misunderstandings quickly. Imagine students retelling a story or discussing the text – these are formative assessments in action! • Summative Assessments: These less frequent assessments, like end-of-unit tests, cover broader content areas. Think of them as progress reports, offering a snapshot of student achievement towards grade-level learning goals. #EKSAQIndia #EKSAQRCA #CBSEschool #education #readingcomprehension

💥For the first time in our decade-long journey, we have collaborated with CRCs (Cluster Resource Coordinators) from Anand district in Gujarat's education department through the Captain Saathi program. CRCs play a vital role in enhancing school education quality by monitoring, providing training, and supporting teachers. They promote innovative teaching practices, track literacy and numeracy progress, conduct academic inspections, integrate ICT, and engage parents and volunteers. Anand's CRCs honed their leadership skills in a two-day training program focused on improving classroom practices for teachers and student learning outcomes in Maths—the 321 Captain Saathi initiative. 🔸Day 1 kicked off with an exploration of the program's goals and a reflection on the CRC's crucial role and challenges in motivating teachers. The session then delved into the five pillars of effective teaching, empowering CRCs to assess their strengths, areas for improvement, and focus areas for their teachers to improve classroom practices through a dedicated intervention on our learning management system platform. 🔸Day 2 focused on practical tools for success. CRCs learned a 4-step coaching cycle to guide teachers toward improved classroom practices. Interactive exercises honed their ability to give constructive feedback through focused one-on-one conversations and implement practical solutions in the classroom, like attention-grabbing activities and clear instructions. Additionally, they explored the power of manipulatives to make Math fun and engaging. Overall, the session aimed to instill confidence in CRCs, equipping them with tools and techniques to improve their coaching skills, elevate teacher instruction, and unlock student potential in Mathematics. 100% of CRCs shared that the session was a good use of their time.✨ Samir Shaikh Ripal Desai #CRCs #CaptainSaathiProgram #Anand #Gujarat
