Agile methodologies are no longer limited to software development. Agile is expanding across industries, enabling organisations to respond swiftly to changes, deliver customer value, and foster innovation. Embrace the widespread agile revolution. If you are a 'traditional' Project Manager do not fear embracing the agile revolution...accepting the changing landscape does not mean disgarding the priciples of project management or ignoring the lessons your experiences have taught you That said, familiarise yourselves with agile frameworks, such as Scrum or Kanban, and adopt agile principles of iterative development, collaboration, and adaptability...although you should have been doing this already. If you weren't you are probably-paint-by-numbers. Agile methods enhance project successes in today's fast-paced world. PM's should promote agile values, encourage self-organising teams, and embrace continuous improvement. Agile working enables organisations to quickly adapt to change, seize opportunities, and thrive in the ever-evolving business landscape. #AgileTransformation #PMOExpert #AgileEverywhere #PMOTips #AgileProjectManagement #AgileMindset

Digital transformation is often the major strategic initiative an organization undertakes to shift its business trajectory. Agile methodologies can be a valuable tool for IT leaders in achieving this objective, but only when they are deployed in alignment with the organization's digital goals. "CIOs are under increasing pressure to deliver more digital innovations faster and more efficiently. Business leaders expect IT to develop new products, improve customer experiences, automate workflows, and deliver new artificial intelligence capabilities." say Isaac Sacolick, CIO Contributing writer. Here are five common challenges organizations frequently encounter when embracing agile methodologies as a catalyst for digital transformation. 1. You’ve failed to build trust and communicate the vision 2. You’re retaining waterfall planning but demanding agile delivery 3. Your agile principles are too vaguely defined 4. You treat change management and feedback as afterthoughts 5. You’re ignoring the culture aspect of agile — or not aligning it with business objectives The author wrapped up by sharing the following set of steps for CIOs wishing to expedite their digital transformation and enhance business results, aligning agile methodologies and the cultivation of an agile corporate culture 1. Require vision statements for all digital transformation initiatives. 2. Apply agile methodologies to the full lifecycle of an iterative program, including planning, delivery, change management, and communications. 3. Create an agile center of excellence chartered with evolving self-organizing principles and standards. 4. Lead the discussion on what an agile mindset and culture should mean in your organization. #ccpn #digitaltransformation #digitalobjectives #digitalinnovations #artificialintelligence #agilemethodologies #simplevisionstatement #aligmentofexpectation #iterativemanagement #culturechange #challengeassumptions #agilemindsetandculture #agilecenterofexcellence

In agile environments, the need isn’t for more or less governance, but for governance that is structured, applied, and embedded differently. The approach to governance depends significantly on the maturity of the environment. In a non-mature agile environment, governance often requires more upfront work as people establish their ways of working. However, as the environment matures, the need for intensive governance diminishes as trust, accountability and repeatability builds. For instance, in every agile environment I’ve encountered—and I’ve worked with over 30-40 companies—there has always been a need for investment oversight, reporting, onboarding, timeline visibility, change management, audit, and scope management. What changes is not the necessity for these elements, but how they are integrated into the workflow. As I’ve been saying for almost a decade, it’s about putting #agile into governance, not #governance into agile. To be clear, agile meaning ‘able to move quickly and easily’. Unfortunately, poor execution of governance, or the lack thereof, often hinders delivery teams because it is implemented after the fact. This retroactive approach causes teams to move away from being agile—quickly and easily. Many people focus on the ‘quick’ aspect but lack the patience to consider the ‘easy’ part. Effective governance in agile environments ensures that while teams move quickly, they also move with ease. And if your teams aren’t moving ‘quickly and easily’ something is blocking them. With my short sharp discovery 💡 assessment I can help you figure out exactly what it is and why so you can #unblock your teams do they can do their best work. Send me a message to get started. #Agile #Governance #ProjectManagement #BusinessSuccess #Leadership #MaturityModel

The Real Issue Isn't Agile or Waterfall—It's Governance… I hear it all the time, organisations that have gone full Agile (whatever that means for them), believing that moving away from traditional methods (which people often refer to as waterfall) would solve their problems. But what they discover is eye-opening: Agile isn’t working for them either. The issue isn’t the underlying methods of delivery—it was the lack of governance. I've seen this time and time again. Companies switch their delivery approaches thinking that’s the silver bullet, but without proper governance, no framework will thrive. It's not about whether you choose Agile or Waterfall; it’s about how you manage and govern your processes. Instead of focusing on how they should change their governance, the way they fixate on how they change their delivery, they instead focus on the ‘what’. Unfortunately that’s where your problem starts and ends. I've helped numerous organisations bridge the gap between traditional and Agile ways of working. The secret isn’t in eliminating governance but in transforming how it’s done to better support agility. The key takeaway? It’s not the delivery method but the governance that makes or breaks your delivery process. Whether you're Agile or Waterfall or anything in between, effective governance is what keeps your projects on track and aligned with your strategic goals. Don’t blame the framework—focus on how you govern your projects. Create a flexible, responsive governance framework that empowers teams and ensures accountability. That’s where real transformation happens. And if your not sure whats driving the governance bloat in your organisation and need helping getting ‘unblocked’. Send me a message let’s chat. 💬 #Agile #Waterfall #ProjectManagement #Governance #Leadership #BusinessTransformation #ContinuousImprovement #AgileThinking #ValueStreams #PMO #BusinessSuccess #amo

How to introduce an agile framework at a traditional waterfall management organization? I have seen this question far too often. Let's take a look. Is it challenging? Yes. Can it be done? Yes, with a strategic approach. Should it be done? The answer depends on understanding the 'why' in the context of organizational need and expected business value. So, what is Agile anyway? Agility is being able to quickly adapt and change direction intentionally. It's a way of thinking. Take the absolute first step. ↳Help organization(s) overcome the denial of not being agile. Self-perception of being agile (when not) is the #1 barrier. Prep up with the big question: Are you ready to be Agile? ↳It takes a cultural shift to embrace new ways of thinking and working. If the answer is a resounding YES ↴ Follow the steps in the poster. Prepare to beat the imminent resistance. How? ✓ By human nature, change is unpleasant. Be patient and empathetic. ✓ Be prepared to debunk misunderstandings about Agile principles & values. ✓ Be resilient. ✓ Be flexible with certain agile principles when scaling up. Don't attempt to fit the mold. ✓ Be mindful. It's a journey along the continuum, not a destination. Without getting into the dichotomy of various frameworks, the crux of the matter is that there is no ✓ or ☒ approach. The wisdom lies in knowing when and how to achieve an optimal state of agile maturity to deliver maximum value. What has been your approach to introducing agile in a traditional waterfall management environment? #projectmanagement #projectmanagers #pmi #agileprojectmanagement #agileprojectmanager #agiletransformation

How many ways of implementing Hybrid approach have you seen? I seen plenty, some with little variations and some with large and significant differences. #RefineM #agile #hybrid
There are few organizations that implement pure Agile. Most organizations use some form of hybrid approach; this could be any mix of Waterfall and Agile. Due to the varying needs of projects and teams, there are several ways to effectively implement hybrid practices.
