APHSA -- American Public Human Services Association’s Post

At Monday morning's #aphsasummit24 opening general session, “Bridging to Bipartisanship in Human Services,” we were honored to have a phenomenal panel of human services leaders for a candid discussion on how we can better manifest bipartisanship in pursuit of the human services mission at the federal level. The speaker panel included: Reggie Bicha, President and CEO, APHSA -- American Public Human Services Association; Kristi Putnam, Secretary, Arkansas Department of Human Services; Angie Rodgers, Director, Arizona Department of Economic Security; Layla Zaidane, President & CEO, Future Caucus (formerly Millennial Action Project) [moderator]. Ahead of the panel, Dannette R. Smith, MSW, Commissioner, Colorado Behavioral Health Administration, welcomed attendees to the conference and introduced Reggie Bicha, who shared his background and vision for impact as APHSA's new President and CEO. We also heard from Jeff Hild, Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary, Administration for Children and Families (ACF), U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), who shared recent accomplishments in the federal agency and thanked the state and local agency leaders in the room for their partnership to promote the economic and social well-being of children and families.
