APHSA -- American Public Human Services Association’s Post

At one of the #aphsasummit24 Monday afternoon sessions, “Better Outcomes for Youth with Complex Behavioral Health Needs,” we had the pleasure of hearing from a stellar panel of representatives from various national associations – Health Management Associates (HMA), Annie E. Casey Foundation, and Casey Family Programs. These representatives shared their collective vision and results from a recent convening with select states, and shared knowledge cultivated through this collaborative effort to create solutions to better serve young adults with complex mental health and behavioral health needs. #humanservices #mentalhealthmatters #youthmentalhealth The speaker panel included: Uma Ahluwalia, MSW, MHA – Managing Principal, Health Management Associates; Kirsten Beronio – Senior Policy Advisor, Center for Medicaid & CHIP Services; Julie Collins, MSW, LCSW – Vice President of Practice Excellence, Child Welfare League of America (CWLA); Jennifer Johnson, PhD – Acting Commissioner, Administration on Disabilities, Administration for Community Living, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS); Rebecca Jones Gaston – Commissioner, Administration for Children and Families (ACF), U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS); Julia Mueller – Community Engagement Specialist, APHSA -- American Public Human Services Association; Sheila Poole – Vice President, External Relations, APHSA -- American Public Human Services Association; Joseph E.
