🌍 #WorldCMLDay | Today, is World Chronic Myeloid Leukemia Day We raise awareness and advocate for improved care and support for those affected by this life-altering disease. The date, 22/9, symbolically reflects the Philadelphia chromosome (the translocation between chromosomes 9 and 22), the genetic abnormality responsible for CML. This year's campaign highlights the ongoing challenges many face in accessing timely diagnostics, effective treatment, and adequate support. Despite advancements in CML care, disparities persist, particularly in underserved regions where late diagnoses and limited access to treatment options can drastically affect patients' quality of life.
