Without private credit, business stops. This crucial funding source steps in where traditional banks can't, providing essential support to keep our US economy strong and moving. For example, during the pandemic, many small and medium sized businesses needed cash to stay afloat. Private credit delivered, offering the flexible funding they couldn’t get from banks. Private credit also fuels the renewable energy boom, financing wind and solar projects that drive our shift to clean energy. Similarly it’s allowing insurance companies like Athene to meet consumer needs and tackle the retirement gap in this country. In short, private credit is vital for growth and innovation. Implications of Higher for Longer for Credit - Apollo Academy With the Fed on hold until 2025, my colleague Shobhit Gupta and I took a look at recent episodes since 2022 when rates markets have been pricing higher for longer. The evidence shows that rates higher for longer have generally been associated with tighter credit spreads both for IG and HY, likely because of stronger-than-expected growth and earnings, see table below.

Consolidation seems to continue.

Business Valuation is PERSPECTIVE. The majority of valuations are preformed reactively because of a situation an owner is in. It can be triggered because of tax or legal events. Unfortunately too few owners see valuation as a knowledge tool. When the Apollo 8 mission orbited the moon in December of 1968 they gained (the whole world did as well) a new perspective of the beautiful planet we live on. Valuation gives owners a much needed perspective to help them make better decisions about the business and how to approach their overall financial health.
