Appalachian Mountain Health attended the NCCHCA 45th Annual Conference in Greensboro on June 6th and 7th last week. All levels of leadership, from mid-management and directors to the c-suite, joined nearly 400 attendees to discuss key developments from NC Medicaid, CMS, and BPHC. The event kicked off with board meetings and an intimate discussion on leadership and service, followed by a thought-provoking session on building a culture of respect in the workplace. We are excited to bring these insights back to AMH and continue enhancing our community impact! #healthcareleadership #Medicaid #FQHC #appmtnhealth #CommunityHealth

Experienced Healthcare Leader focused on the promotion of health | Passion for education, advocacy, and strategic thinking | Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) | Project Management Professional (PMP)
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has hosted several recent webinars highlighting how it's National Quality Strategy is being implemented. Two of the sessions I attended, "Prioritizing Patient Safety Through Quality Measurement" and "AI in Quality Measurement" emphasized current cross-agency federal collaboration (AHRQ-CDC-CMS-FDA-ONC) and a focus on the shared strategy goals highlighted below. This initiative, launched in 2022, sets and raises "the bar for a resilient, high-value health care system that promotes quality outcomes, safety, equity, and accessibility for all individuals, especially for people in historically underserved and under-resourced communities." 👏 👏👏👏👏 https://lnkd.in/ecrEtSwu https://lnkd.in/eSRyisWT #healthcarequality #patientsafety #healthcareoutcomes #highvaluecare #patientaccess #patientcenteredcare #healthadvocacy

Advising health care organizations dedicated to better outcomes and more affordable, equitable systems for financing and providing care
Regular primary care contributes to better health because it's regular, whole-person focused and relationship-based. CMS has been steadily building capacity for relationship-based care with monthly payments for ongoing care management for people with chronic conditions and patients transitioning from hospital to home. For the 2025 #Medicare Physician Fee Schedule, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services is proposing to bundle these monthly payments and simplify billing and documention. Learn more about the intent and vision to support primary care relationships with payments that enable care coordination, virtual patient check-ins, and more. There are also some exciting proposals for #ACOs. Comment and let the agency know what more they can do to make this vision for better care a reality. #primarycare #chroniccare Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services https://lnkd.in/exakekhG

The Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) rolled out a new supplemental code, G2211, designed to give PCPs a financial boost for their ongoing care and patient relationships. According to CMS, this code captures the complexity of visits stemming from the practitioner-patient bond. As discussed on the BoPC Podcast, Season 2, the importance of longitudinal relationships cannot be overstated. Healthcare leaders must adapt to changes like these to ensure practice sustainability. Read more from Christina Neider, MHA, HRMC on this update below. #CMS #G2211 #primarycare #healthcareupdates #patientcare

Long-term care facilities arguably deal with the most extensive documentation requirements compared to other types of care, primarily due to the regulations of Medicare and Medicaid. However, instilling effective documentation practices requires time, and given that staff in these facilities are already stretched thin, performing the actual tasks is often a greater priority than documenting them. InteliChart’s Family Portal eases a portion of this burden by consolidating all messages with families into a centralized dashboard. With all necessary family communications instantly documented and readily accessible, staff no longer need to spend hours searching through emails, phone messages, and texts when preparing for annual surveys. Another study finds that primary care is the "MVP" of #Medicare #ACOs. Yet it's not clear that all health systems and ACO leaders are acting on overwhelming evidence that more primary care = more shared savings. And CMS could do more to nudge ACOs to invest more in primary care, which is a win-win-win-win for CMS, ACOs, ACO participants, and patients--who receive more primary care. That's why PCC is urging CMS to offer ACOs the option for PBPM hybrid payments for primary care in the Medicare Shared Savings Program. Hybrid primary care payment would give primary care teams flexibility and resources to be more proactive for patients, supporting them in-between visits to solve problems, answer questions.
