What are some of the biggest shortcomings of most local (VS code, webstorm etc.) &! cloud IDEs (Codesandbox, GitHub Spaces etc.)? They are different from the production environments your code later runs in and they don't support real deployments of complex landscapes with multiple services & databases. Also they have very limited computing capabilities either based on your local hardware or the allocated cloud compute. Shortly before Christmas we explored how all of these shortcoming can be eliminated: Connecting VS code to Codesphere workspaces! The setup takes less than 5 minutes and you will have a working tunnel for production like deployments, bidirectional code synch and much more! More in our latest blog post ⬇ 💜

What is a minimum viable product ? MVP is a development approach where a product with the minimum set of features required to meet user needs is built and released. It's a prototype designed to validate assumptions and gather user feedback while minimizing resource allocation. It can take the simplest forms from a simple video to a single static web page. Dropbox MVP success story : • MVP: A simple video demonstrating the concept of cloud storage and file sharing. • Success: The video went viral and attracted millions of users' sign-ups, validating the demand for the product. It seems we're all so conditioned to be the "boiled frog" that we don't even notice it's hot in this pot. Do you remember the days when we all owned our own standalone software? ► We bought it once and didn't have monthly or annual subscriptions. ► This was before "the cloud" came into existence. ► The cloud became an opportunity to charge monthly subscriptions. ► Have you ever totaled up the yearly costs of all your yearly and monthly subscriptions? I did that recently and discovered that the cost was $4200 a year. That's when I realized I was just a boiled frog. This form of "servitude" crept up on me without my noticing it. Ever since, I've made it a goal to cut as many subscriptions as I can. My rule: The value I receive has to be substantial and impossible to get elsewhere. Or else...consolidate or get rid of it. Have you noticed that the cost of your subscriptions has crept up?
