Stats show that U.S. roads are a dangerous place for pedestrians, with pedestrian traffic fatalities close to a 50-year high. In 2023, almost a quarter of all road fatalities occurred at intersections 🚦 In this context, ITS International Magazine is organising a webinar today titled "How #V2X can improve safety for vulnerable road users". Attendees will hear from leading experts, including 5GAA's Board Member James (Jim) Misener (Qualcomm) on the critical role of wireless technologies in enhancing #trafficsafety and efficiency for all road users. Topics include: 🔵 How #CV2X can inform real-time safety alerts to reduce VRU crashes and fatalities 🔵 How #cellularnetworks can increase awareness for vulnerable road users, such as pedestrians and cyclists 🔵 City of Chattanooga's experience in deploying these technologies Register: https://lnkd.in/e8_HyFPy

#V2X has been in the air for some time connecting vehicles to roads, each other and beyond. But now the US gov't has entered the fray which makes the idea take on more immediacy than heretofore. Cars have been talking to phones with BLE for some time. I guess we can expect to see some higher bandwidth comms for V2X. Another bit of technology to stir the pot. https://lnkd.in/dB4iZpQe
