These 7 words “You’ve Got This!” & “We’ve Got Your Back!”— Sum up my Day 1 message to our new medical students. In other words: –You can do this. –You are more than enough. –And we are here to support you every step of the way! This is a message I would have benefited from hearing on my 1st day of med school—and on the 1st day of major transitions thereafter. Who in your orbit may benefit from hearing these 7 words today? You’ve got this! We’ve got your back! #WhatInspiresMe #MedEd #Healthcare

This semester marks my first experience teaching #HealthEconomics. Developing courses is quite time-consuming for me because I design interactive online lessons that generate unique solution sets for each student. The inspiration for my latest lesson came from my younger brother's experience: driving from Northern Idaho to Yuma, Arizona, for a dental procedure at a significantly lower cost compared to American dental offices. This price difference is attributed to cartel-like effects of US #regulations, #licensing, #PatentLaws, the costly @US_FDA approval process, #CompetitorsVetoes in #CertificateOfNeed laws, and the relatively more competitive healthcare marketplace in Los Algodones Mexico. https://lnkd.in/eXKcNE6Q

“Happy International MSL Day” IMSL insights: Although the MSL role is growing and evolving, the MSL community is still small when compared to other professions within the pharmaceutical industry. The evolution and rapid growth of the role has resulted in the need for a professional forums dedicated to the MSL role. Today there is even an official International MSL Day, which occurs every year on March 27th, to recognize the profession, and raise awareness of the importance of the global MSL profession. #msl #mslday #renovare #medicalaffairs #imsl #mslinsights

I'm putting together a guide about how IMGs can get US clinical experience that future students can benefit from. If you are an IMG who got US clinical experience, what tips do you have for how to get USCE's - especially those without connections? Where should people look? How should they contact doctors?

Founder @ Parasite initiative: Building Capacity for Medical Lab Sciences Youth | Global Health | Citizen Based Science and Community Engagement in Health Research
"The Intersection Between Public Health and Clinical Laboratory Professional Identity" 🔬 I recently attended an eye-opening session with the APHL - Association of Public Health Laboratories on professional identity in Medical Laboratory Sciences (MLS). Professional identity in MLS is about our self-concept and role perception as we navigate our careers. It involves how we see ourselves and our work, our commitment to the profession's values and ethics, and maintaining high standards of practice. This identity is shaped by education, work environment, professional interactions, and the broader culture of healthcare. Key elements include: - 🧪 Technical Expertise: Mastery of diagnostic techniques and specialized knowledge. - 🔍 Ethical Standards: Upholding integrity, patient confidentiality, and quality control. - 🤝 Collaboration: Partnering with healthcare professionals to deliver critical diagnostic insights. - 📚 Continuous Learning: Staying updated with advancements in medical technology. - 📢 Advocacy: Promoting the importance and recognition of our role. - 🌐 Professional Networking: Engaging with peers and professional organizations. - 🔄 Reflective Practice: Continuously improving through self-reflection. - 🌍 Public Health Impact: Contributing to broader health initiatives like disease prevention. It was an eye-opening talk that reinforced the unique and vital role we play in healthcare. Thank you Dr. Rodney E Rohde, SV, SM, MB (ASCP), FACSc, for this valuable session! 🙌 #MedicalLaboratoryScience #ProfessionalIdentity #Healthcare #PublicHealth #LabScience #ContinuousLearning
