🔶 Inverse Wave field EXtrapolation (IWEX) IWEX employs ultrasonic inspection techniques such as full matrix capture (FMC) and total focusing method (TFM) imaging. This method captures A-scans from each element of the array transducer and analyzes them using techniques similar to those used in seismic and medical imaging. Recent advancements in computer processing hardware and software enable the immediate application of these methods in the field. IWEX plays a vital role in the worldwide energy industry. Specialized programs can be used to analyze girth welds, seam welds such as ERW and FW, and axial pipe body faults like stress corrosion cracking. IWEX assists Applus+ clients in accurately forecasting the likelihood of failure for particular categories of pipeline flaws, enabling them to make well-informed choices about the prioritization of repair and maintenance tasks. The improved size and discriminating capabilities of the product enable the client to retain specific faults without requiring any on-site repairs.
