𝟭𝟱𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝟮𝟭𝘀𝘁 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰: 𝗡𝗘W 𝗨𝗡 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗛𝗼𝗺𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗥𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗲! ⚠️🔎📋 From 14th to 16th November 2023, the 𝟭𝟵𝟭𝘀𝘁 𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 W𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝘂𝗺 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗛𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗩𝗲𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗹𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 (#WP29) took place. During this session, two NEW UN Regulations were voted and adopted, with an entry into force date of 21st June 2024. Additionally, several amendments proposing potential homologation requirements will enter into force on 15th June 2024. UKCA and CE Marking The UK Department for Business and Trade (DBT) have announced a further pragmatic approach to improving product regulation in GB, to reduce barriers to trade and support businesses to invest and grow. Please note that this does not apply in Northern Ireland. Last summer (2023), DBT announced the intention to indefinitely recognise current EU requirements, including CE marking, for the 18 product regulations under the department’s remit. Following feedback from industry, the government is now expanding the scope of continued CE recognition to include three more regulations. To provide legal certainty to industry, government intends to legislate for this indefinite CE recognition this Spring (2024). Later in the year, government also intends to introduce greater labelling flexibility, including the voluntary option for manufacturers to use digital labelling. Along with the 18 DBT regulations, the three further regulations now included are: · Ecodesign for Energy-Related Products Regulations 2010 · The Explosives Regulations 2014 · The Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment Regulations 2012 (‘The RoHS Regulations’) - in most circumstance https://lnkd.in/eXbMuZvh

The EU's standardization work on the #AIAct has recently seen a shift in the type of ISO standards that should be used as reference points. This change is bound to favor sectors that are more familiar with product safety rules, like the medical devices and automotive industry.
